Absolutely RRGB is better than streez. RRGB has better features overall, better production, and kurupt doesn't rap very well on some songs on streetz. Streetz was the beginning of Kurupt just basically freestyling a lot of his verses and rhyming words even though it doesn't make much sense. The title track is my favorite song, and kurupt flows very well on there, but if you really listen to the lyrics, they are pretty stupid.

I'm still rockin wit GFunk2024 though in the regard that...

Yeah sure, Kurupt sounded hungry and like he was bringing his A game to the table and actually "trying" on Streetz.  On Kuruption we often suggest that he wasn't "trying" hard enough...

But I still wanna defend GFunk2024's post a bit because Streetz was kind of the first time he really stopped making sense and started to do all that...

 "tarradactal rap actual T-Rex Tyranosaurus
Multiple Miracle catacalysmic chemical"

type of raps.

In his Death Row era lyrics it was more about life and kickin' reality raps really down to earth—as Snoop had advised him.  Then on Kuruption it was still that way but just with less care, but still about life and not just rhyming crazy words that don't really have a reality to them like the way Ghostface Killah style

Before someone jumps on here and is like, but on Kuruption he raps:

"Gigantic, titanic, tarantula"

...but that actually fits my narrative on this, because "Ask Yourself" was recorded after the album was already finished—and HighEyeCue might be old enough to remember those MTV segments that aired on MTVNews where Kurupt reported Dre would be producing his next album — bottom line was he was so excited with the way that final song "Ask Yourself" came out that it pretty much gave him his direction for his next album in some ways at least

kinda like

Telepathic addiction to this homicidal recital
Dangerous and vital to all my rivals
Suicidal, brainwaves conveys

Rip microphones into bits and pieces, lyrical telekinesis
Gets me into verbally vindictive
Violent vocabulary vibes to existence

To vocally void your whole molecular structure
Catastrophic, mystic

etc etc

he was already doin that style on Dogg Food

it got worse in the 2000s

exactly

and if you ask the average hip hop head or casual from NYC they will most likely point to that track as what he is most known for

This is not even close. RR&GB is the best album to come out of tha dogg pound besides dogg food.

DAZ with this album just proves he dont need Dre, Quik or any others producers

I always looked at that album as Death Row's last stand

It was the last true classic that they ever released

but tbh I like RAW better that is his real magnum opus

How about this... Verse 1 of Kuruption vs. Verse 1 of Streetz

Kuruption

Gangsta, gangsta, I'm a G from the D
That's what the riders see
I'm a get a quarter-mil, quarter-inch of a deal
Come through - grey and blue
I'mma show you what I do, Where I hang and shit
Dogg Pound Gangstaville in the cut, nigga what
I'm a slip through, if you trip, I'mma trip too
Get a bitch to strip 'til the homies dip through
Got my nigga Slip too (what up Slip?)
And I got a whole eighth of weed
And that's all we need - 'til we hit the next spot
Cause when I flew in, I knew it was 'bout to be a G'd up reunion
Ain't no words to express this song
Cause one day you're here and the next you're gone
This goes out to the homies
And this is straight from the heart and true
And This One's for U

Streetz

Psychosomatic, automatic static
Catatonic, supersonic, bubonic chronic addict
Astrononimcal in the Thunderdome center
In the depths of the dungeon, dangerous, dastardly
Catastrophes, metamorphosize into a pit
Tyranno-Don,

when I used the word narrative in a reply to gfunk that's exactly what i meant... he admits to only listening to it a handful of times...The universal narrative being that Kurupt fell off so hard on Kuruption! that he only came back that much stronger on Streetz.,,but if you take 15 random tracks from Kuruption! and do the same with Streetz and Space Boogie you can see that he had just as many lyrical songs on there as the other albums...plus the non lyrical tracks he was actually making sense almost story telling to an extent like Thats Gangsta the Warren G track...there is also a track on the East disc called Game where he was as close to Dogg Food lyrically as any track on his solo albums...plus he was story telling if you really listen to the lyrics...overall the song suffers from a bad hook and the beat is just ok but I started to love that track when I went back years later and really listened to the lyrics all the while looking at them on Ohhla...dont get me started on the mistakes they make on that site though ;D

You got me to give "It's a Set Up" another chance and it's a damn shame I slept on it all those years with the album in my rotation and skipping over it

Maybe I'll have to give "Game" another chance.

The narrative that works for me is... Kurupt was held to a standard on Death Row, after that he got sloppy on Kuruption, so he worked hard to tighten up on Kuruption, then on Space Boogie he got da assist from Fred Wreck.  Then totally fell off like as hard as any rapper has fallen after Space Boogie.

^^is that the general narrative?

you are on point with the first 2...the narrative with Space Boogie was that its a very good album but mostly due to the production primarily by Fred Wreck but Daz and Fly also did tracks...so yeah a lot of people when asked will say that Space Boogie is their favorite...but for instance check this track out which was actually a Streetz leftover released on Space Boogie

to me this more nonsensical than anything he spit on Kuruption!... it almost sounds he is inventing words just to have them rhyme

so how is the narrative not correct then?  All you did was added some details.  You said mostly due to Fred Wreck and then added some more details, whch I agree with and which also fit the narrative.

And agreed that lyrically on the Daz track you posted -- though I will say his flows really melted nicely over the beats that were bangin on Space Boogie, that sort of shouting style of flowing really made those tracks pop out the speakers and I turned my trebles and highs up and no subs just amps and 5'9' and 6'9 pioneer and polk speakers sounded amazing in my 99' Camri back when that was actually good car because the year was only 2001, lol

just reading what I wrote yeah you are correct lol 8)

so i probably was thinking of gfunks comment about Kuruption! Streetz and the narrative

I don't remember him mentioning Space Boogie but maybe that too

the way you broke it down is very similar to Roscoe's verse on I Call Shots...I think Organized Noize might have done that but yeah banging beat, good flow but he was making no sense whatsoever real lyrical miracle type rap...basically the definition of "talking loud but aint saying shit" lol

RRGB > Streetz

You were right to point out that it's a perfect record from the Resurgence era but the mid-90's Death Row era was superior to the resurgence era which puts RRGB over Streetz because that was Daz prized stash he had in the canon and he's said in multiple interviews that's why he stayed at Death Row.  He was sitting on classic material from the golden age and just waiting for a proper release which he finally got in Spring 98

RRGB by Daz and Streetz by Kurupt were each one's magnum opus.  Their peak solo albums.  Take the best tracks from both and you have an idea of what Dogg Pound's follow up album WestCoast Aftershock could've been.
