RRGB by Daz and Streetz by Kurupt were each one's magnum opus. Their peak solo albums. Take the best tracks from both and you have an idea of what Dogg Pound's follow up album WestCoast Aftershock could've been.
we already have that with dillinger & young gotti
and when you think about it was there a better 2nd album by anyone else who was on the Death Row roster? Pac? Snoop? and I'm talking their 2nd albums period...and before someone says Dre the Aftermath presents is dope but not on Dillinger And Young Gotti level
Uhhh homie... are you forgetting AEOM and 7 Day Theory?
im not that far gone yet I wasn't talking about their 2nd album on DR I was talking overall which for Pac would be Strictly4
Aftermath Presents is 100X better than Dilinger and Young GottiDoggfather is 10X better than Dillinger and Young GottiRaw > Dillinger and Young GottiStrictly > Dillinger and Young Gotti
lol ur trippin dillinger and young gotti is arguably a classici remember some people arguing it was better than dogg food, which is wrong, but just the fact that it was a discussion should tell u how great that album was
Never was a fan of the album. 💿 looked like something a kid printed off of his home computer. I had a hard time taking it seriously
yes, there was a big problem in the mixing in this album . The vocals don't cut through the beat. The vocals lack presence specially for Kurupt
Yeah after having the best of the best in the 90's — to see an album 💿 released like a JT the Bigga Figga project didn't seem right.
I think you guys are going more by the presentation of the album which you are right...it looked like Daz printed the covers out himself...same with RAW. I was actually impressed with that that here you have a guy of Daz's caliber that didn't even have to care about that and just put it out and have it be either equal to his 1st but at least his 2nd best...the only differnce is there is no question that Dogg Food is superior it even could be better than The Chronic adn Doggystyle...its at least tied.. that's what I take out of it and I'm just saying that all of us who are in this thread are heads that like to talk hip-hop especially about the era when we fell in love with it...now we're not all going to see eye to eye on specifics but the fact remains that everyone who is active on the DUB right now is a hip-hop head and its sad to see that where hip hop will be even 10 years from now
but like b. laden said. the sound quality also didn't sound properly mixed and polished. RAW on the other hand did have some cuts that banged out the speakers as well as anything I'd ever heard before.."My speakers bumpin down the streetzMy speakers bumpin down the streetzMy speakers bumpin down the streetsWit nuthin, but bass!"So the mix and polish on RAW actually sounded more professional to me than Dillinger and Young Gotti. I respect your tastes as much as anyone, along with Sccit. So if ya'll say Dillinger and Young Gotti is dope, salute for finding something in it that I didn't. But I remember bumping the opening joint, "Dip Wit Us" on repeat -- but trying to get through the rest of the album was a chore...and with Daz always wanting to make a quick buck, and Kurupt being known for uneven efforts after Death Row, you have to wonder how much effort they really put into it. Dogg Food we know took months even years to record if you consider everything from the sounds and lyrics and artists they used on the record, so the polish was unquestioned. They said in an interview they recorded like 100 tracks for Dogg Food. It was a massive effort put into that album not just from Daz and Kurupt but the entire label behind them.Suddenly you got just Daz and kurupt wanting a quick buck, I just didn't trust the album
