I think it's a combination of both.

(Although I dunno much of what's goin' on in American radio, since I don't live there. But based on what I've read in magazines or interviews or on this board...)

So i agree with Seer.
Is that just an excuse?

Most of  the West Coast Artists dont bring good music to get played on radio ,its too hardcore for radio I guess, could be the money also,no money means no promotion. Also if you aint on a major label dont expect to get airplay (thats my opinion)

or maybe its djs like funk master flex charging for air play?

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

there was that (apparently unfounded) controversy stuff about sheist and power 106 too, more a conflict of interest tho.

labels will pull whatever moves they can to get things done... maybe not paying money... but an expensive promotional gig.. maybe somewhere exotic or something else can also make someone feel like they have to play your stuff.

its a shady area really... thing is... are artists/labels and their promotional depts. for some of these things that are being moaned about doing all they can? and/or as much as the 'other' labels... like... do the radio stations actually have these records... and what drives whats on the playlists?

i feel people are quick to diss in this area where sometimes it seems like the bitchers havent actually made any efforts to help the stations play their stuff in the first place... 'radio stations on the east dont play our shit' .. my question... did u send it to them?   what u think?

personally i don't care to hear my favorite rappers on the radio....last thing i want to hear is dj quik getting played 40 times in an hour....look at what happened to 50 cent...no one wants to bump him anymore and if you do, you're corny cause you can just turn on the radio and listen to that shit...

and about statements that the west hasn't come with heat...you mean to tell me since dre's 2001 there hasn't been a good westcoast song? 3 years and no one from the west has made a song to get major airplay? you've got to be touching yourself.

50 came out with some gangsta rap and he gets much airplay...cause he's from the east coast...cause he has eminem behind him...cause he has dre beats...that's all it boils down to...it's not like he's lyrically advanced like ras kass, oh he can flow like jayo.

so when it comes down to it...yes you can sell out like snoop and make a radio hit, or try and come out like 50 and hope you don't get the fuck played out of your song.

Everybody needs to stop hatin' on the West, damn...I hope that Jayo Felony will put some new heat into the WestCoast hip-hop scene so he can let the East know what's up...

Yeah, I agree...the west doesn't bring that many radio-friendly tracks out, which isn't necessarily a BAD thing because then you get tracks like "Beautiful".
