yeah lets all respect Dre, the man who stole Above The Law's sound (The Chronic) and used a Ghostwriter & Co-Producer on every track (2001). I admit he does make some good music and did bring out Snoop & Daz but he doesn't deserve as much respect as he gets

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Yeah, he definitely deserves respect although he takes credits for beats he didn't make...and THAT'S wrong.

I'm still suprised about what I asked in a post the other day.

There is no dedicated Dre fan-site these days like there used to be. (dreday)

Actually there are very few specific artist fansites these days compared to the past.

Shit...I'd say DJ Quik, Battlecat, Fred Wreck should get more recognition any day before I said it's time to give Dre his props. Dre's the only West Coast producer that even gets respect across the country.

i think its about time he gets some respect instead of people saying he aint west no more

Dre is a genius and gets 'nuff respect from me, but Its sad to say that IMO Dre aint westcoast no more.  The people who he works with, Eminem, Rakim, Eve, Mary J Blidge, 50 Cent, none of those people are westcoast, nor do they make westcoast music.  Dre still makes dope beats and Im sure hes gona drop another classic, but the Nuthin But a G Thing era ended a long time ago for Dre...

Lol i dont get it...this is an appreciation thread and yall keep hatin on the man. Say thingz like he stole ATL's sound (which you know aint true), and say he takes credits for tracks he didnt produce, even if you've never been a single second in a Dre studio session, you just say what you hear from other people who hav heard it from other people, and not even them did tracks with dre...its obvious some of you have a problem with Dre..i think its time again for Mellowman to step in this thread and shut your mouth....

Props to the greatest Rap  producer that ever did it.

He gets the most hate and love at the same time. The reason he gets hate is because some people feel he is one of the best but they jus don't think of him as the best, and they feel it's shady that dope producers get nowhere near the credit that Dre gets.

Even tho nobody can be sure if Dre is or isn't makin his own beats, why would there be so much speculation that he doesn't make some of his beats? U never hear somebody sayin "I heard Quik doesn't make any beats, he just makes minor changes" and also why would Dre be mad at Daz for sayin it...shit why would Daz say it if it wasn't true?

really... he didn't steal ATL's sound? ever heard Black Mafia Life which dropped before the Chronic? it has many samples that Dre utilized after Hutch did. and i never said he takes Credit but it is true that he used a Co-Producer on every track on 2001 (Mel-Man) except for one track produced by Lord Finesse

1. Take a look at the list of all tracks Dr.Dre have produced: CLICK HERE!

2. Say that Dre have stolen each and every one of them, and that he has fallen off.
Also add that the real masterminds between all of Dre's work and different sounds/styles is Daz, Battlecat, ATL, Fred Wreck, Scott Storch, MelMan, DJ Khalil, Eminem, Focus etc.

3. Watch every sane member on WCC call you a retard.
