dr dre appreciation thread
i think its about time he gets some respect instead of people saying he aint west no more

Dre is a genius and gets 'nuff respect from me, but Its sad to say that IMO Dre aint westcoast no more.  The people who he works with, Eminem, Rakim, Eve, Mary J Blidge, 50 Cent, none of those people are westcoast, nor do they make westcoast music.  Dre still makes dope beats and Im sure hes gona drop another classic, but the Nuthin But a G Thing era ended a long time ago for Dre...

Dre got me into hip hop.  He's by far, my favorite artist.  He's a musical genius.  He's a REAL producer.  He uses musicians.  Why don't y'all hate on Quincy Jones too?  He did the exact same thing.

Lol i dont get it...this is an appreciation thread and yall keep hatin on the man. Say thingz like he stole ATL's sound (which you know aint true), and say he takes credits for tracks he didnt produce, even if you've never been a single second in a Dre studio session, you just say what you hear from other people who hav heard it from other people, and not even them did tracks with dre...its obvious some of you have a problem with Dre..i think its time again for Mellowman to step in this thread and shut your mouth....

Props to the greatest Rap  producer that ever did it.

He gets the most hate and love at the same time. The reason he gets hate is because some people feel he is one of the best but they jus don't think of him as the best, and they feel it's shady that dope producers get nowhere near the credit that Dre gets.

Even tho nobody can be sure if Dre is or isn't makin his own beats, why would there be so much speculation that he doesn't make some of his beats? U never hear somebody sayin "I heard Quik doesn't make any beats, he just makes minor changes" and also why would Dre be mad at Daz for sayin it...shit why would Daz say it if it wasn't true?

Dre wasn't down with any of em row artists after he left, Daz had beef with him plus he's of course giving himself props when he claims he was the real producer of these tracks.. that's why

and why would Dre be mad at Daz for talking shit..? kinda obvies to me..

and the reason nobody be sayin "I heard Quik doesn't make any beats, he just makes minor changes" is that nobody is mad at Quik for gettin all credit cuz he doesn't.. cuz he's not that big --> no bitter fans of other producers feelin like their favc producer is treated unfairly

everybody's speakin but NObody does actually know anything.. they all heard..

Say thingz like he stole ATL's sound (which you know aint true), and say he takes credits for tracks he didnt produce
really... he didn't steal ATL's sound? ever heard Black Mafia Life which dropped before the Chronic?

actually.. NO

The Chronic was released before Black Mafia Live

The Chronic was released before Black Mafia Live

no i wasn't Black Mafia Life was released around 6 months before the chronic was

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

What up Lil J....If u checked Mellowman last post on WCC he admits indirectly that dre takes intrumentals from other peeps...but he wanted too call somethin like "checkin out new sounds" or some shit like that..other than that..many INDUSTRY cats have expressed the real on Mr Dre and his love for buyin beats/remixin other cats beats and puttin his own name on it.

Oh i just one add one more thing...there is only THREE records that Dre Dre has done by himself (accordin to the credits that is  ;D) The Chronic,Doggystyel and No one can do it better.

The Chronic would NEVER have sounded that good without the people workin on that album like Colin Wolfe,Chris "The glove" Taylor.

Doggystyle has been surronded with rumors of ghostproducers like Daz claimin of doin atleast 2 songs on it...It doesnt even list the musicians workin on that one....and u can bet that were alot on that shit.

Think about it people...Dre is great but not that great as you peeps want him too look like.

Peace

that's incorrect. for one, mine says 1992 on it. i think that it was re-printed at that 1993 date or somethinlike that, i'm sure Damon X could clear that up
