Mine was Salt-N-Pepa "Very Necessary". I got it the week it came out back in 93. I was soft, lol. I'm listening to it right now. Memories, lol.

dont remember my first CD, but my first tape was a mix-tape that had NWA Rakim and a few other songs on it. got it back in 96 when i was 10. a few years before that my dad had some soundtracks & compilations which had tracks i liked: Method Man- The Riddler. Salt-N-Pepa - Shoop, House Of Pain - Jump Around and probably a few more

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...
Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
