I like under the influence more than any other quik album.  And yes I have them all.  I think he put more heart into the songs on UTI.

yeah i actually kinda agree. it could very well be his best ever.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I Think "Rhythem A Lism" Is His Best, But My Favorite Has To Be "Safe & Sound".  That Album Is So Gangsta.

Under The Influence is his best LP (especially when your  8)). Quik improved about 10x on that album as far as a producer, and he never has been a bad rapper and his guests were dope (maybe some more Suga Free was needed?).

Listen to it with headphones on, while lean, and you'll think it's amazing.

And the Trouble Remix is dope and so's the advance copy too.
