I ain't feelin' Quik on the production tip, and that I know of I've only heard 1 Primo beat and that was Ras Kass "Goldyn Chyld" remix. IMO that beat is tight as fucc.

My 2 Favorite producers of all time. They can't be compared because they are so different.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

You're an idiot. Quit putting all that space in between your posts it's annoying as hell.

It's like sayin whas better, football or basketball.....navigators or escalades....it is ALLLLLLLLL a matter of taste because they are almost as opposite as can be  for bein in the same genre.

From a musical perspective, DJ Quik is light years ahead. He is much more musically inclined and his shit is much more complex and has a completely different sound. DJ Premier is the master of choppin up samples, which prolly makes him the more "true" to hip hop as people say. I like Quik much much better and I'd say he's better but at the same time, I kno many people don't like Quik's style just because it is musical, has funk, and isn't as "hip hop" as premier.

i could go either way with this one.  since their styles are totally different i cant compare them.  i like both of them the same, they are tied at #2 on my list
