I think IV Life has a good chance of blowing up. Not just because they got talent but because they make good mixtapes (freestyles over popular beats) and they have some commercial appeal. They're not commercial rappers but the appeal is there.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Right now. The Game. He's got the generic NY mixtape style that has taken the industry over. The East Coast heads will eat that up. The West will slobber on his dick thanks to the Dre affiliation. Really though, if he wasn't with Dre, and still rode with JT, nobody would care about him.

As of right now, I think Knoc-Turn'al got a much bigger chance than The Game.
The Game is dope, but I'm not sure at all about getting a release on The Math.....

^^Totally true, but I think Trauma could be very close to the truth.

sadly I agree with Trauma.    Rap is changing for the worst, good thing I got 100's of albums to catch up on.  This is not to say there isn't a lot of talent on the westcoast, it just does not get recognized.

I think the closest is THE GAME. He got that NY style, West lyrics & Dre in the back. IV LIFE will sty underground, sad but true. Actually the sadest thing is that Trauma is absolutly right...
