IMO, the tracks on the new G-Unit is pretty amazing..
Some nextlevel shit, at least "Poppin them tags", that's almost cinematic..

Before 2001, his beats weren't on that level.  So his beats before Detox, won't be on that level.

Been There, Done That was as tight as 2001.  Guilty Conscience was as tight as 2001.

Yeah they were tight, but they weren't on the same level.  IMO his best beat before 2001 was Ask Yourself a Question
bitch please and just dippin
those 2 were for the chronic 2001 album

Suuuuuuuuuuuuure!!!  ::) both were from "No Limit Top Dogg" by Snoop Dogg

I think what Bigg Chillah is saying is that those two beats were made at the same time that Dre was making beats for 2001, and therefore they were made in the same sound mould as 2001, and therefore cannot be considered as before 2001.

Wrong.

They used the same sample.  Tash's album was out before 2001 and used the same sample on Fallin On, its an old old song -> David McCallum - The Edge.

I couldn't find the David McCallum track on Kazaa/Winmx, but I have always wondered which bit is actually sampled? Is it just the build up bit at the start and between Snoop and Dre's verses, or is the whole beat?

the bit that goes "bada ba dang dang"

dre flipped it compared to the original.

i've got an interview with david mccallum in an undergruond uk hiphop mag (called big daddy, think its outta business.. used to have to send a cheque thru the post to get each issue...) anyways... mccallum was callin dre a genius for how he used it.. i should scan it.
