Got these at VIP
« on: November 16, 2003, 07:06:47 PM »
so i went to VIP records today to try to get the Lifestyle - Liquid Cocaine album, well :'( :'( :( they didnt have it but i got these

RBX - Ripp the Game Bloody
Compton Blockz
The Capos

RBX -now i heard many peeps saying that the rbx was not good at all, well after a listen through it i totally dissagree, its very dope, the beats are not that bad at all and he rips it up on the mic, i thought it was out on DPG Recordz but it says Doggystyle on the back

Compton Blockz - i also heard this cd was a dissapointment, well not too me, its also very dope, no Quik production but it still bumps all the way through, very solid compilation

The Capos - well this is a duo out of Long Beach releasing their debut "Street Fame", its 2 rappers, Big Tyme and Czar from the LBC, a very dope underground release, not even a barcode on the cd ;D

Nice. I picked up 6 new CDs today:
dead prez - Get Free Or Die Tryin
Earth Wind & Fire - Super Hits
2Pac - Resurrection Soundtrack
Guru - Jazzmatazz
Lost Boyz - Legal Drug Money
Run-DMC - Ultimate Run-DMC

Who's on that Compton Blockz CD?

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
