I know there have already been a couple of threats about this, but I just got to a new version...  ;)

Let us now, what you think about chicano and drop your opinion about it. Tell us also, why you like it or why you hate it.

I like some of it.  when it's original
I don't like all the oldie sampling it's o.k. sometimes but they do it too much
or just sampling in general for example the Westside Cartel they rap over everyone else's beats

Forgot to add:

Frost
Mr. Shadow
Conejo
Proper Dos(Frank V)

Aside from that, the Chicano rap that you cats like is garbage. I used to support it because they're Latinos, but I can't no more. It's horrible.

Cypress Hill is considered Chicano rap?

B-Real = 1/2 Cuban and 1/2 Mexican
Sen Dog = Cuban
Muggs = I-talian

That's not a Chicano rap group. They're a Latin Rap group, but not Chicano.

Chicanos are Mexican, usually full Mexican. Since only 1 member is even half Mexican, they wouldn't be considered Chicano.

I like Frost & Jay Tee. Other than that, I'm not to into it.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
