Roscoe still has a chance.. Or Crooked I with the right promotion. Bad Azz has no charisma in the front of a camera he looks like a fool . Think about "we be putting it down" or "U aint Shit". He's a dope rapper but he dosent have the charisma to be a star. Somebody mentioned Tash, its kinda true, The Licks make good party tracks

i dont think tha liks are ever gonna get bigger than they were with best u can..

Yea Roscoe got it.

But I have seen Bad on TV in interviews and all and he has a real outgoin personality. He overdoes it a lil on his own videos but he doesnt try 2 act all hard and gangsta like most west coast rappers.

I think Warren G was been one of the most "commercial" rappers of the WC. Tracks like What's Love Got To Do With It, I Shot The Sheriff, Smoking Me Out, Regulate... if those tracks aint the perfect definition of "commercial tracks"!!!!!!!!! Warren G, def.

Well I would like to say Bad Azz, he's one of my favorites and he's the kind of artist that should blow up. He has some deep things to say, he's a great lyricist and he can still sound good on party records (not too over-complex for the simpleton club-goers).

BUT I don't see it happening. He's had two albums, been on Snoop's shit, he's been around for a minute and the mainstream just doesnt seem to give a fuck.

Same with Yukmouth, I have no clue why but the masses just aint feelin the modern day Yuk (Post-5 On It), even though he covers the same ground most popular rappers do, and does it with a lot more style.

So really I can't make a decent decision, because it seems that all the rappers I like, the mainstream audience doesn't. I thought Short Khop was gonna be a hit but nobody outside of LA gave a fuck about him, its been the same with plenty others. I'm staying underground.

I mean, if we're talking emceeing Bad Azz ain't in the same category as many of the top emcees in the West. Not close. Commercial appeal, he doesn't have it. He's had videos, he's been on BET/MTV with Snoop, he just doesn't have the commercial flare.

"See, nothin' about these hoggs is cute/They got more stripes than Daryl McDaniels joggin' suits"-Crooked I

Bad Azz has never and probably will never spit something that hot.

Thats a sick line with mulitiples in it...Bad Azz is dope man, I dont know how you think there many heads on the westcoast better than Bad...He just says dope shit all the time, real shit too...shit like "Paper haters hate the fact that I attract alotta Paper, among other shit...

I could search for more lyrics, but I stand by my opinion that Bad Azz is the most talented on the west...Not taking anything away from Crook either.

OK Check this verse, from "Nigga 4 Life"

{Bad Azz}
We confined to these wordly ways, it's unchanging
The money makes, murder the kids, and gangbangin
The stock market crashed, they watchin my black ass
You pop em for fast cash so we dies over dollars
Get wise hold the knowledge, we rides know the choices
The key to the future, the devil he wanna shoot ya
Fuck em they call us niggs I'm tryin to make a livin
Do some touchin, you know I'm pretty good with the bustin
Trustin nothin you can buy if your money in discretion
We'll beat you and car jacks and leave you wit a concussion
We the gang, we mash and blast and maintain
Still the same, just fuckin wit a brand new thang
Bang, bang, take that, nigga 'fore we skirt out
Aint gotta say shit already put the word out
Ya heard how the thang goes down around us
We playas, so haters can't clown around us
On point, big fat blunts and joints
And get drunk, this cold world, they aint givin a fuck
About you livin let alone you livin it up
Niggas is stuck, I'm tryin to keep my head above water
Not stressed about dyin for a quarter in a shorter
My time get the heart of my rhymes, get a nigga get better with time
And wonderin how I'm goin by, can't help it in the heat of the
Heartless hood, it's all good

Now your telling me theres alota heads above Bad Azz...

Doubt it.

Study that line I dropped. It might be a little complex for you but once you get it, you'll know why Icon is way ahead of Bad Azz. And, I never said Bad didn't have talent, he just isn't as good as many of the top emcees out here.

I would never put Bad Azz up there with say Ras Kass, Sly, Gift Of Gab, Chali 2na, Irescience, Del, Planet Asia, Casual, Aceyalone, Defari, Chace Infinite, Scipio, Sick Jacken, 2Mex, Busdriver, to name a few. I would put Crooked I head to head with them.

I'm a big fan of Bad Azz, but I agree with those who say he won't be the "next Snoop". His chance passed with "Personal Business". Two videos, including one with Snoop, and still nothing. IMO Knoc has all of the right tools to blow. "The Knoc" with Missy and Dre was pretty damn big, and if they ever get this "Way I Am [remix]" video with Snoop out it'll help a lot more. Especially once his album finally drops. I wish someone like Crooked I or Sly Boogy would blow, but I guess the mainstream just ain't feelin' those with incredible lyrical ability.

I get that line, and it is dope. But for one, I always have thought Crooked was better than Bad Azz, but Bad Azz has more appeal, and has proven himself because of the fact he has two albums and has been consistent. I am one of the many that has been dyin for a Crooked album, so don't say "well that's not Crooked's fault" because it isn't. But I still think Bad Azz is better as a commercial artist than Crooked I.

Basically, all the names you listed may be dope as hell, but aren't as diverse. True, Bad isn't as lyrical as any of em, but I think his delivery and flow are better than all. I could bump a Bad Azz album all day long. He sounds better over a variety of beats. Now I haven't heard all of the artists u listed, but shit, other than a few people on this board who has?? So don't say "what the fuck??? u haven't heard of Busdriver??" because if u asked all of my homeboys, the only bus driver they know is the one who took us to school in high school. I kno snoop is a reason that we kno who bad azz is now, but snoop has nothin to do with why I think Bad Azz is dope, because many people will be like "u only like him cause he is with snoop."

I never thought of Bad as bein the next Snoop, nor do I want him to be, because he is Bad Azz. He is worst and better than snoop in different ways. He shits on Knoc in my opinion..I have never felt Knoc all that much. His flow isn't really that creative to me, and his lyrics are less than impressive in my opinion. Yeah Crooked and Sly should blow up, but it's not that the mainstream ain't feelin em, they just aren't hearin em. Most dudes would recognize their talents fa sho, and most girls would like em if they heard em spit on a club track.

"Who can push you off a summit, on to a dagger that stab you in the back and exit ya stomach/ after you plummet one hundred miles from it/Who else can start a flee/tie you to the bumper of a movin' truck, hop on ya body like water skis/Gotta be the Crooked hombre/I put so many infra red dots on ya shirt that niggas would you was Qwame/I'm twistin' caps like I'm openin' beers/Been loc'n for years, I choke engineers til they broke into tears/Provokin' ya fears, throwin' spears at speeds fierce enough the pierce the hemisphere between both of ya ears"

LOL...u still act like I said Crooked was wack!!!!!!!

Damn, everytime I talk to people about west coast rap, Crooked is who I mention. So just because I said Bad Azz has more commercial appeal, doesn't mean that I said he is better. What song is that from?

^^^Never directed that at you. Don't get excited.

I know damn sure you never heard Busdriver, he has NO commercial appeal. But, that does not take away from his emceeing. Just because you and your homeboys don't know em, that don't mean they're not better than Bad Azz. Fact is this, commercial appeal never goes to the most talented nowadays. Look at the people who are blowing up, they have little to no lyrical skill. Bad Azz has lyrical skill, but near as much as the people I listed. I can drop a ton of names who got more commercial appeal than Bad Azz, too. He's not as hot as he's made out to be. He'd be another Techniec, who is better in my opinion, had Snoop not brought him along for the ride. Bad Azz' albums would've never seen the light of day had Snoop not took control. Matter of fact, Crooked I could have very well been in Bad Azz' situation right now, with Bad in Crooked's had Icon stuck with the DPG.
