I write songs, and man, it's just hard to write a song that isn't so sappy or so over the top that it's stupid.  There's a fine line you have to walk.  You have to think of creative ways to say things, and not just use cliche's.  I've written a hundred songs and just crumpled them up and threw them in the trash can.  

Somebody mentioned Common's "Come Close" that's probably the best love song I've heard from anybody yall care about in the past few years.
