(techie mode)

its stuff thats paged to disk and not being used.. its also known as paging memory or a swap file.

under XP you can enlarge the virtual memory (pagefile.sys)  by right clicking my computer, clicking properties, going to the advanced tab and clicking the settings option, in the property page that shows there go to the advance option again.. the bottom section has a change button for looking after virtual memory.

(techie mode off)

Do you know what RAM is? when you open a program it goes in the ram so you can use it. Virtual memory is just like ram only its located on the hard drive. do that step that the guy said above. i have a 120gb hard drive so i set the maximum number of gigs for my VM.  yu should have at least 2
