PULP FICTION & KILL BILL
« on: April 15, 2004, 09:19:22 PM »
                       MIA
"Fox Force Five."  Fox, as in we're
a bunch of foxy chicks.  Force, as
in we're a force to be reckoned
with.  Five, as in there's one..two
                       ..three..four..five of us.  There
                       was a blonde one
, Sommerset O'Neal
from that show "Baton Rouge," she
was the leader.  A Japanese one,
a black one, a French one
and brunette one, me.  We all had
                       special skills.  Sommerset had a
                       photographic memory, the Japanese
fox was a kung fu master
, the black
girl was a demolition expert, the
                       French fox' specialty was sex...

                                  VINCENT
                       What was your specialty?

                                  MIA
                       Knives.  The character I played,
Raven McCoy, her background was she
                       was raised by circus performers.
So she grew up doing a knife act.
According to the show, she was the
deadliest woman in the world with a
                       knife.

I have just watched Pulp and when she said this it kinda made me think hmmmmm sounds kinda like the Kill Bill charachters, I thought it was quite neat.  Oh and plus when Butch gets the Samuri sword, I was like coool.

Just thought I'd post it up.

yer but still.  I thought it bared at least a bit of a resembleance.  Especailly the bits I highlighted in bold.

Hes prob been writing it for years don't forget.  He might of been thinking about the charachters for the deadly assassins and thought hold on, loaded up the PULP FICTION script and bobs your uncle.  A jap, a black, a blonde, a french (Sofie).

I wonder if the question was asked to him what he would say.  If its pure coincidence that the charachters sounds similar.

In Pulp Fiction, the girls are a t.v. show.  They're fake.

In Kill Bill, they're for real, it's not a t.v. show.

So??

I am just pointing out the slight resembleance.

Quentin Tarantino has confirmed in interviews that the "Deadly Viper Assassination Squad (DIVAS)" was inspired by "Fox Force Five", the fictional television show that Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) filmed in Pulp Fiction (1994).

source: www.us.imdb.com

Kill Bill was concieved during Pulp Fiction so isn't all that surprising Tarantino did this, especially since he took a character from From Dusk Til Dawn as well for Kill Bill and he is known re-using certain ideas and lines
"We need to find courage, overcome
Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction"
- Faithless - Mass Destruction

"It's better to help people than garden gnomes."
- Amelie (2001)

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
- Franklin Roosevelt

"Power to the people, not the governments."
- Chuck D

"The possibility of physical and mental breakdown is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride."
- Raoul Duke

for the sequel question, in a sense, it can be considered an off spin from pulp fiction, where uma thurman or "mia wallace" is talking to john travolta in the diner, and she talks about fox force five. there is an amazing resemblance in the way she describes fox force five, to the chracters in kill bill.
