SMH @ me
« on: May 03, 2004, 05:06:52 PM »
I just found out today that Snoop basically bit a whole damn Slick Rick song for "Lodi Dodi". It's a damn shame. Now I'll never hold this song on such a high level as I did before this morning. A sad day for me.

You just found out about that Slick Rick song now?

*Revokes Shellz's Hip-Hop Pass*

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

That's why the thread is called "shake my head @ me". I feel ashamed. I hate Slick Rick, but now that I know one of my all-time favorite tracs was basically his, I might havta check out a lot more shit from dude. And don't forget...I openly admit I'm closed-minded when it comes to rap. That's just how I am.
