Paul McCartney says the Beatles hit "Got to Get You Into My Life" was a song about marijuana, "Day Tripper" was about LSD and "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" was indeed about dropping acid. In a new interview in which he details his drug use while with the Beatles, published this week in Uncut magazine, McCarthy says he tried heroin and used cocaine for about a year around the time the group was working on its landmark 1967 album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club"...

Guess what dumbasses, this was in the LA Times today...McCarthy has denied that "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was about LSD many times in the past, but he only admitted it this week in an interview with Uncut...There's been much debate about it over the years, so don't even give me that "no shit sherlock" bullshit...

better 8 months late, than your 10+ years late thread on beatles making drug music.  Did you guys know Bob Marley made reggae music, and quite often he made references to marijuana  I had to watch his documentary 14 times in a row before I figured that out.

I'm pretty sure John Lennon wrote "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", and it was named after a drawing his son Julian drew in grade school. Correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah, i don't remember the drawing was by Lennon's son, but i know it was named after a drawing by a child and they said the "LSD" was a coincidence
