Should Crooked I have left Death Row Records?
« on: June 26, 2004, 05:18:59 PM »
He's inked a deal with Universal to distribute his debut album, "Mamas Boy" on his own imprint Dynasty Records. But do you think he should have left what was formerly that powerful empire?

He's going to be aligning Dynasty Records with the Sucka Free camp, from Houston I think. Lil Flip etc. . .

Crooked will also drop a couple more mixtapes before his album drops.

We'll see if he gets an album out first. If he does then yes.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

The only time Deathrow would of released his shit is if he had been cut down in a drive-by shooting.
Lisa Lopes they still aint put her recorded album out.

Crooked was the most skillfull cat on that played out label, theyre managing of him was beyond a joke.

Well since Tha Row haven't done shit in all these years, save for releasing that one soundtrack and some Pac stuff, there really was no reason for him to stay there. Even back when he was the only potential artist to drop a record on the label, nothing happened. Then they pushed Kurupt's album before his in the schedule when they signed him... I think Crooked I is better off pretty much anywhere else - when you're with a label as long as he was with Tha Row and all the time the fans are waiting for your albums and nothing ever happens, you gots to go.

Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Man, Tha Row is washed up and finished. Crooked made a wise decision leaving.
