FBI Indict Big Hutch On Federal Charges

F.B.I. Indicts Rapper Big Hutch of Above The Law For Conspiracy To Traffic A Controlled Substance, Rapper Says Music Business Is Special Target For Feds.

(Los Angeles, CA)---Federal authorities have indicted Big Hutch (AKA Gregory “Hutch” Hutchinson) for conspiracy to traffic one thousand pounds of marijuana in a case pursued by agents the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Hutchinson will begin serving his sentence on July 28. Hutchinson says, “I was driving, and federal marshals pulled me over, and picked me up. They told me I had been indicted for drug trafficking.” Hutch, who is a member of the rap group Above The Law, recently released his second solo album, Live From The Ghetto. He first came into prominence when his group was signed by the late Eazy-E to his Ruthless Records label.

Hutchinson explained, “Some other guys had been arrested, who I hadn’t had any contact with for a while. They gave the feds my name, and said I financed their drug operation, which isn’t even true. When the feds interviewed me, they didn’t ask me who I knew who was involved in drugs. Rather, they asked me who in the music industry was involved in drugs. They were just interested in people who worked in music business. So I kind of wonder if that’s why these other guys used my name, since that is what the feds want to hear.”

“Since hearsay is admissible in federal trials, unlike in other court criminal proceedings, I knew it would be impossible to fight this, so my attorney advised me to cop a plea,” said Hutch. He added, “There was never any trial. A motion was simply filed to determine what my sentence would be.”

He further contended, “One of the other peoples’ phones who was tapped was someone who was working at my company. So I became a victim through that. The feds should have known from the conversations I had nothing to do with it. There was no reason for me to be put under scrutiny.”

Hutch commented, “It was ridiculous. They were trying to claim that I financed their drug operation, and that I was the beneficiary because I have a record label. No one could prove it, but because of the association with these guys, they charged me with conspiracy. I never put any money up for their activities. However, the federal process allows hearsay, and there was hearsay that I knew what these guys were doing. So that alone, according to the feds, makes you part of the operation, even if you have utterly no function whatsoever in it. You essentially become a criminal, solely based on the fact that you have knowledge of an illegal activity being committed. I ended up getting charged for several years for a crime I had nothing to do with.”

Hutch also said, “Hearsay that is based on the claims of government witnesses who are trying to get sentenced less time on their case, and who therefore give people up like this, is all the feds have to have. Then the feds can make a conviction, solely based on that.”

A music video for Hutch’s single “Lyrical Murder” has just been released through West World/Activate Entertainment.

I was wondering when this was going to be mentioned, Well my publicist sent press releases to certain news sites. And this was first published by the homie Davey D on his site. There's alot more to the story, including my involvement, but it's all good, this indictment came months ago. More info on this bullshit will surface in the next couple of weeks. I will say this be aware of those who claim to be down, when the shit hits the fan, these so-called homies are always the first to snitch, dry snitchin' to keep from being buried under the jail, lol.

Only God Can Judge  ;)

Guilty by association, that's what these bitches have enacted their laws against my brother for, but it again this happened months ago and we decided to keep it hush hush, but then Hutch decided that we might as well exploit this situation to our own benefit. Turning something negative and turning it into something positive. So it will hamper some shit (like endorsement deals etc.), but it won't stop our label, from releasing product. It could of been worse, this shit could of happened and we would of still been signed to Death Row, with no product ever being released, especially from jail. But it's cool, shit is taken care of.

Yea knowin' Suge, no better yet knowin any of these labels who use one's misgivings to sell records, that would of been a great marketing ploy, but brothers don't sell drugs and stopped that shit once they got a deal, but all the homies that we surround ourselves with are hogs and gangsters, which is the way its always been. It's just a shame that one of the homies is a bitch and when Uncle Sam tightens that noose, these field negroes turn into house negroes and want to please "massa."

According to Dubcnn, how "dubcnn" do an exclusive video interview, days before he was arrested, when this whole ordeal happened, months prior to the release of "Live From The Ghetto"? and there was no video interview done at that time? Just want clarification.
