SCC?  one hit wonders?  dudes have classic albums.  I don't think they ever were commercial.  Not even close to a one hit wonder.

Being one hit wonders does not mean that they were weak, commercial or just stopped making great music after their hit.

Snow's first album was a great hit, but I can tell ya it's his weakest album and he's got a classic dancehall album in "Murder love" and a lot of heat and dope rhythms in all his records.

I loved Skee-lo, his flow was fucking dope. What's sad is that if he had rapped about gang life, with lots of cursing, he'd be still around and making hits on the west. He's like an westcoast Twista.

Most of the times it's the labels that make artists one-hit-wonders. Most keep coming with heat, but labels fail to promote them right, or don't feel it's gonna be as big as the first hit and fuck their careers.

Sugarhill Gang, as much props as they do definitely deserve, i wouldn't know about any real success except for that one song we all know

Luniz, commercially and to non-west coast fans, of course the Operation Stackola album was dope and yuk himself has done tons of nice songs, but to the average rap listener "I Got 5 On It" is the only song he really knows

Loon was kind of a one hit wonder

that's what i can think of rite now, i guess in hiphop there ain't too many of them

mc hammer - cant touch this

Code: [Select]
btw. i found something interesting about him in the internet:
Hammer time" was over by 1996, when $13.7 million in the red, he declared bankruptcy. After breaking his leg in 1996 and the murder of friend Tupac Shakur, Hammer experienced somewhat of an epiphany and went back to being "a man of God" (Hammer grew up in a religious envronment and was no stranger to spiritual endevours).
Hammer is now an evangilist, his shows now consist of prayer, preaching and gospel singing. He lives in a four-bedroom home in Northern California with his wife and 4 children.

Update: March/04: Reader HiRoll3r reports to us "Just an update. I was invited to a party in the SF Bay Area a few weeks ago. Turns out it was a party for the release of his new album and video(perhaps single) Full Blast. So it looks like Hammer's getting out of the preaching game and back into music. Til his backers figure out that this will not be a lucrative venture."

are all black rappers big friends with each other or is that just the way ppl from the pop-bussiness see it?
or were they really "friends"? cause i never heard anything like that before,
hammer was on death row for a few months... yeah, b/c of beeing a friend to tupac or became he a "friend" of tupac after signing the label?
hmmmmm ???

same hammer?!? 8)

Man, MC Hammer was far from a 1-hit wonder. He had all kinds of hits. He even had hits on diff. albums, remember "Pumps and a Bump"
