Information on new 2Pac album
Posted by Christopher Wanzelius on Monday, August 30 2004
Tupac album news has been a little slow lately even though the reported release date of November is creeping ever closer. We get asked daily if we have any new information but often can not report on it.

However, Amaru is still aiming for a late November/early December release date. There is no tracklist known yet, so any internet rumors are false. Tracks are still being worked on. Afeni has more control over this project then past projects, and she has given out the same accepellas to different producers and will chose the best results for the album.

Because of this it is hard to pin-point who will produce on the album. Eminem is confirmed, and Dre was contacted but word has it that he turned it down. Kanye West may also produce a beat. Actor/comedian/singer/producer Jamie Foxx is also doing production on the album.

As for guest appearances, fans can expect to hear the Outlawz and Eminem. A lot of the songs are still waiting for artists to drop verses over, but some all star tracks are in the works.

As with everything Tupac related, the anticipation is huge for this project. And with it being one of the last Tupac CDs, fans expectations are even higher then usual. Amaru seems to be on the road to delivering the goods.

I'm not. He always held a little grudge because Suge made him give 2Pac California Love. Though a modern Dre beat with 2Pac might be too much of a good thing, so it might be better we don't get that. It would be a dream for me.

Man Afeni needs to stick with regular artirts and producers. She dont need to put lil john and Eminem and shit as guest aperances. That just makes the album shit.

I'm sorry but Afeni is totally fucking up.  She keeps whoring out these tupac songs, completely changes the production, and makes it all poppy sounding.  Better dayz was fucking damn near unbearable at times.  Just like sikotic said every 2pac album has gotten progressively worse, and thats why his sales have been declining with each one.  If they kept it true to how he intended it to sound I think that shit would still be sellin like a motherfucker.  Not that sales mean anything, but she is really fucking up his legacy.  Don't get me wrong, I'll take a tupac album any way I can get it, but she shouldn't be calling the shots when it comes to how the music should sound. Peace

totally agree with you

Plus i think this album is even gonna be worse than Better Dayz and Until The End Of Time

My dream is a 2Pac Cd with all the original songs ...the way pac wanted his songs and not this shitty ass pop remixes produced from gayne west and feminem

It's obvious the reason why they remix all the songs is because they're trying to reach the mainstream audience...who nowadays are crazy about Em & Kanye, so they think by doing that, they can increase the sales. But apparently, they keep getting the opposite effect.
It would be very interesting to see them release an album with 2 versions

1. One with all the original songs (beat & guest appearance).
2. The other one with the remixed songs that Afeni picked.

I'm really curious to know which one would do better. I'd say the last one, because of all the top-notch producers/guest appearances...but at the same time. Are the "hardcore" Pac fans interested in that version? Don't think so...

Bottom line is, I don't think that Afeni actually cares about Pac's fans that much...'cause if she did, she would just release the original version, 'cause she know damn well that's what we want. The thing is, it's the music business...so if they can take a chance to increase the sales, of course they're gonna take it to see how it works out.

I'm a huge Pac fan so I've always bought the albums, no matter who was on the album. The thing I care most about are his lyrics, and not necessarily the beats. As long as the beats are okay, it's not that bad. A person who buys a Pac album will most of the time buy it because of Pac's lyrics, and not the beats.

^^but she must be really stupid if she releases OG versions that you can already find on the net... i don't know how much unheard material there is though..
