I have no beef with episode 1-3, I find it hilarious that people act like it's a let-down that those movies arent like 4-6.

I guess lucas decided that its more important to wow us with the special effects than to wow us with a good story.

what you say is absolutely true but in addition to that time changes. a movie made in 2000 simply CAN NOT have the same flair, attraction and atmosphere as a movie made in the 70's.. it's impossible. if it had, ppl would hate it.
