I totally agree with the thread starter. Snoop is doing big things, and IMO is already better than Jay-Z and will continue to get better if he sticks with then neptunes, i'm liking the sound the two bring together. Also there is no question that snoop is the king of the westcoast because if u ask anyone about the westcoast right now the first name that wil come out of their mouth when thinkin about the westcoast is Snoop Dogg.

I agree....Im just waiting for Snoop to get back with Dre and solidify his career...I think if Snoop can put out one more album and have major input from Dre then he will be looked at as one of the best of all time...Hes prolly somewhere in the top 10 now but if he can do another dope album with Dre I would def put him as a top 5 or even a top 3 rapper of all time.

Also, as much as I like Dre and Cube I wouldnt call them King of the Westcoast....Dre aint even a rapper, and when he works its ONLY with EASTCOAST artists...Ice Cube doesnt work enough in the rap game to be king of anything...The song he did on the Lil Jon album was cool, but Cube didnt even come that good on it....He got outshined by Jada, Nas and T.I. on one song, and on "Roll Call" I got so sick of him over using the word "Nigga" I cant even listen to that song anymore...Snoop is definatly the king of the coast.   He went hard on the mixtape scene all last year, and has been dropping platinum albums representing the westcoast for at least the last 10 years....I cant say that about anyone else.

Kurupt has one brilliant album, and only 3 solos...He is washed up IMO nowadays and going back to the row fucked his career up big time.  How can Kurupt be the King of the westcoast when he hasnt dropped an album since what 2000?  To be a king of anything you have to have longevity, be respected and be a boss and Kurupt does not display any of these qualitys to me...There are many more reasons aswell but it doesnt matter what u say on DubCC cuz for every fan there are 2-3 haters so whatever Im just tryin to voice my opinion....

I havn;t bought a snoop album since Top Dogg...but he is the King Of Mainstream Rap in the west...but i'd really give that to Xzibit haha, tat least Xzibit's worst albums are better than anything Snoop's made in a WHILE.

Snoop Dogg was already Jay-Z. People give Jay-Z's career more credit than it deserves because of his great last album, but if his career ended with Best of Both Worlds, or Blueprint 2, basically that was during the time when Jigga was thought of as a dissappointment sell out. Sounds like Snoopy to me. Both Jay-Z and Snoop have 3 great albums and 1 5 mic album a piece. Jay-Z's great albums are Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and Black Album with Blueprint being his classic. Snoop has Doggystyle, Top Dogg and The Last Meal. Both tried to put out new talent on their lables, both never could get their talent to platnum status. (Kanye West was more on his own rather than a Jay-Z protege.) Both are unquestionable in terms of top 10 greatest rapper status. Both are the kings of the mainstream world of their coast since Big and 'Pac died. Basically they both have had simular careers, two of the most talented MCs that put out classic albums, but always left the people dissappointment because they put their efforts in trying to build an empire of their coast, that their music suffered too, and they resorted to putting out commerical music and hot singles rather than classic albums.

Who's the kings of the coast now. Well lets put it this way, the love that Snoop is getting is no where near what he was getting for the past 8-9-10 years. Snoop has fallen off in Cali. The one person I think that is close is Xzibit, his coming up, his show Pimp My Ride is watched by everyone I know, and if he can put out Strong Arm Steady, and be sucessful with it, he'll prove himself as a boss figure. Dre you can say is the king, but like he called himself, his the Ace. His above king because his more than king of the coast, his almost like the king of hip-hop. He has 50 from the east, he has Eminem from the mid-west, he signed Busta Rhymes and Eve, also from the east, Ice Cube from the west, Dre has a nationwide empire, to be king of the west is an insult to Dre, my man is on top of the country. Xzibit though, he looks to be the one coming up with his new album, hell he even calls himself king of California which is a good thing, as every king including Cube and Biggie has claimed the crown. The only king that didn't was 'Pac, but his a different story all together. King of New York is Nas, Jadakiss from what I'm seeing over here looks to be doing well though. We'll see what the future holds.

I pretty much co-sign on anything you said there, but actually I don't really like any of Jay-Zs cds. The Black Album probably was the best, but if I got to rate that one, it'd be 3.5/5. And about Snoop to be the NEXT? He was the LAST, put it that way. He won't grow any bigger than he's been unless he hooks back up with Dre and gets his ass signed to Aftermath to put out a 5/5 album. Otherwise... The west will need some elections because they don't have a king. Xzibit is the one that comes closest, but still he's not ruling a thing so far.
