Off "2001", Dre's verses for Big Ego's and What's The Difference were written by some dude named Punch, who I read in an interview also goes by the name "Yykkes" ( from L.A. Confidential )...The D.O.C. wrote Dre's lines in "Housewife" and he wrote something for Big Ego's too, since he's also credited for that

Hittman wrote Dre's parts in Light Speed, Fuck You, The Next Episode & Bitch Niggaz

Just Dippin by Bad Azz, Hittman & Kurupt ( Bad Azz wrote for Snoop, Hittman wrote for Dre, not too sure what Kurupt did )

doesn't it say so in the credits? and i remember it was talked about on radio or tv around the time the alibum dropped.. on some 'dre reaches out to jayz type shit and i guess dre gave him the watcher beat in return or some shit i remember there was an article on this

i saw a Dre interview in german MTV, and dre was asked whether its true or not that jayz wrote the lyrics to still DRE
dre said something similar like this:'yea, its true. its no shame to get ones lyrics by one of the greatest lyricist (not sure about that word though ) right now.
i got great respect for jay-z, thats why i let him write it'

I believe this but this is just pathetic to have someone else write every song you ever did.  I know Dre is a pioneer and knows talent and beats but other than that, he is just an image.

Well I mean, at no point did Dre ever come out and say that he was an 'artist'. From day one, his initial title has been 'producer', hence the fact that we've only had 2 solo albums from him. For Dre to match the dopeness of his production, I guess he feels he has to make sure that the rhymes live up to the beats, so he enlists trustworthy writers to hook him up. I can see why many cats would dog on him for not writing shit himself, but it's not like he's a real 'rapper'. It's like how Eminem is a rapper who produces, Dr. Dre is a producer who raps. Good point, anyone can write, like you said, though not everyone can really drop something hella nice. I know he wrote his own shit on several tracks from Efil4zaggin, it'd be nice to hear some original shit from Dre, now with Detox, he's got the chance to do it. Who knows, he might surprise us...

Also, notice how shit that people write for dre is often hotter than their own shit?  I read or saw someplace once that how it works is Dre throws "concepts" at writers with an idea of the structure of songs and shit, and his ghost writers do the actual word placement and syllibolic placement and shit like that.

Dre, is a bad ass producer no question about his skill's !! but listen to his music I'm sure he got alot of help from other musician and producer to help him ! which is notthing wrong with that ! we all need some kind of HELP sometime ! but Dre ROCK !! I think he is the best producer !
