1 more time for the people in the back....

Dre Doesn't Use Ghostwriters

He openly says that other people write his verses.  They even sometimes get publishing on the songs too.  How is that Ghostwriting?  That's just writing.

Well I mean, at no point did Dre ever come out and say that he was an 'artist'. From day one, his initial title has been 'producer', hence the fact that we've only had 2 solo albums from him. For Dre to match the dopeness of his production, I guess he feels he has to make sure that the rhymes live up to the beats, so he enlists trustworthy writers to hook him up. I can see why many cats would dog on him for not writing shit himself, but it's not like he's a real 'rapper'. It's like how Eminem is a rapper who produces, Dr. Dre is a producer who raps. Detox 2005 8)

like I said - people find all kind of excuses for that camp

I wouldn't say its an excuse, it's just whatever's been stated in interviews or magazines & shit.

Royce Da 5'9 Also Wrote That Unrelesed Track "Xxxsplosive Part 2" Thats Why He Sings The Hook...Dre Does Help With The Writing Process, He Said In Blaze Magazine (the one with him and snoop on the cover) That When Jay-Z Wrote "Still D.R.E." He Wrote About Bentleys And Jewelry And Shyt And Dre Told Him People In L.A. Dont Give A Fuck About That Shyt, And Told Him To Rhyme About Shyt Dre Would Say... Jay-Z Came Back In 20 Minutes With A Hole New Song And Even Added A Part About Still Hitting Corners In Lo Lo's (That Was Dre's Quote)...That Shyt Is True Too Still Got The Magazine...

There is a thread I made over in the Credits section on who did what on Dr. Dre 2001.  I looked up the credits and found out who wrote what for Dre.  Go check it out.

Also, notice how shit that people write for dre is often hotter than their own shit?  I read or saw someplace once that how it works is Dre throws "concepts" at writers with an idea of the structure of songs and shit, and his ghost writers do the actual word placement and syllibolic placement and shit like that.

Royce Da 5'9 Also Wrote That Unrelesed Track "Xxxsplosive Part 2" Thats Why He Sings The Hook...Dre Does Help With The Writing Process, He Said In Blaze Magazine (the one with him and snoop on the cover) That When Jay-Z Wrote "Still D.R.E." exactly.. people make it sound mindless...

dre is a producer.. he "produces" the final product.. that doesnt mean he plays or writes -anything on the song- but he is the overseeing guiding hand in the process.. "tweak this" "scrap that" etc etc and his golden ear is trusted by many.

yeah mayb he is tutoring new students to carry on his legacy, scott storch is a legendary producer he has perfected dre's style, mike Eliz- sorry cant spell his name lol!!!! Is becomin a great producer he did that track wit macy gray on 8 mile, mel man nuff said! Mark Batson (agen mite of fucked up his name) new talent dre is moldin in his image, warren G even had production lessons from dre.

In Conclusion i think dre is makin new beat makers in the business so havin them work wit him on songs he can advise them and show them the way to produce.

I figured that Rakim wrote Dre's verse on "Watcher II" based on this evidence. First, the lyrics and flow sound completely Rakim-like, listening to it, it's really hard to imagine Hittman or someone else writing it, aside from maybe Eminem. And no other rappers are credited in the writing credits for the track. A couple of years back, that Mellowman dude was talking about it on this board, and he denied rumors that Jay-Z wrote Dre's verse, revealing that someone else on the same track actually wrote it. Unless Truth Hurts is a fuckin dope writer, I'd say it was Rakim, hands down.
