Dr Dre and his Singles
« on: April 05, 2005, 10:17:00 PM »
I mean, from The Game to 50 cent. He only released ONE real single that he produced, and that was How We Do. Higher and Westside Story dont count. All the other ones were produced by Scott Storch or someone else.

This a business move by Dr Dre or what?

It def is a business move....he had to get the singles out that had 50 Cent all over them, because that was his next upcoming project to be put out...he did that, and now look at the huge numbers 50's album has been putting up....

How We Do was coproduced with Mike Elizondo....

People need to realize that co-producing isn't "ghostproducing." Every major producer out there hire's musicians to help them...that includes DJ Quik, Kanye West, The Neptunes and so on. Yes, Dre does play the instruments, but that's only for direction. The stuff we hear on the released songs are played by musicians including Mike Elizondo, Scott Storch, Mark Batson, Che Vicious etc because Dre understands that they play the instruments better than him, making it sound better on the final product. Plus, I think he works with so many people because he makes tracks at a high rate. It wouldn't be nearly as efficient if he worked by himself on each track like some of you think he should.

Word. A Dre production is still a Dre production. Maybe cats haven't noticed but throught Dre's ENTIRE career he's always had co producers. Even w/ NWA it was always "Produced by Dr.Dre and DJ Yella." It doesn't mean they're not still Dre tracks, he just uses a lot of other musicians to assist him. Daz, Warren G, Sam Sneed, Supafly, Mel-Man, etc. have all been Dre co-producers at some point.

Dre produced most or if not co-produced a lot of tracks for The Game and a couple for 50 but come on not all will be released as singles
