oh my god...

I just hope it's not "Oh my God" you're talking about, because that one isn't ever going to come out.

He has a song on a mixtape called "Welcome To The Hood", its on the Catch 22 Mixtape. He was in XXL a few months ago when they were talking about perspective albums for 2005.

I don't remember reading about a new Rakim album in that XXL special about the greatest albums to be released in 2005. It's true, there recently leaked two tracks into the mixtape circuit, however those were old recordings, made for the album Rakim was supposed to drop with Dr. Dre on Aftermath, called "Oh my God". However, that project was cancelled, due to "creative differences" (mostly because Jimmy Iovine wanted them to drop poppy singles etc, and Ra and Dre weren't feeling that).

For the full information on this, I'd recommend you check some topics by Mellowmanisback, an Aftermath insider, who explained the whole situation to us a while ago.

Nope, the album you're anticipating is actually never coming out.

Yeah, it was "Welcome to the hood" and "After you die" that leaked into the mixtape circuit, just because they weren't going to be released in any other way. "After you die" actually is an amazing track - it's a shame that album will never come out.

Seer,

that was along the line of what I had heard a few month's ago. Well maybe it was a year ago that Ra was gonna go Indie and release something. But maybe that was a year ago.
