Why? He's not serious about doing Detox, or he'd bump them, not him! Hell he's been years since he had anything out, all this production for other people is just excuses.  Eminem's already said he's begging and basically making dre do the record, Dre's scared shitless he's going to record it and it won't live up to expectations.  It's his business, but "I'm gonna start three months from now" is just crazy shit, why even mention it if you're not excited about it?

Yeah, then he lost the balls to do it that way.

Don't get me wrong, i'm sure it'll be an excellent album, probably (no doubt, really) the best of the year.  I love Dre... but he's never going to do some totally creative different-direction stuff.  It'll be a dope version of things he's done in the past, a natural progression of his music from Chronic 2001, just like it was from the original Chronic. I'm sure it'll be excellent, but don't expect anything drastically different.

I'm just wondering... If from July on they'll be working on Detox, would that mean the music industry will have to do without new Dre produced material for a while after Stat, Busta and Eve drop? It would be a year or so without any new Dre productions. Oh well, as long as Detox becomes the #1 rap album of all times ...
