When is somebody a Stan?

Someone who speaks against any negativity spoken toward their fav artist I guess is prone to be labeled as a "Stan".

Shit, lotta cats on here probably think im a "Pac Stan" cause im quik to defend him. But if they think that, I couldnt really care less. Thats they business. It aint gonna change any of my opinions. His music is incredibly special to me and has had a major impact on my life and getting me through shit, I feel real strongly about it....more so than any other artist, hip hop or otherwise. If that makes me a "Stan", so be it.

I think almost all rap fans are "Stans" to some degree, with their fav artist(s). Some are just more outspoken about it, like myself.

Are you positive? I actually think hiphop may be one of the genres in music with the least "Stans". I really don't have a favorite artist. Probably Nas or Sticky Fingaz, but you won't find me defending them if it makes no sense

every genre got em'.....our parents was the same way when the Beatles, Stones, etc were doing their thing.

I think in hip hop it seems more prominent because beef/battling is big part of the genre, you dont see it so much in country, rock, jazz, etc.

Yeah, I don't think there's too many in hip hop. There's a few people that are die hard fans of an artist, but most people don't.
