My thoughts on the Lakers picking Andrew Bynum etc.

<< < (3/4) > >>

Stone Cold is Bout It, Bout It:
I'm cool with this pick because the kid is athletic & could jump high & ofcourse he's 7 feet 280 pound Center (by the way he's lost 20 pounds)...i rather have him then 6'8 undersize PF's like sean maye or Hakim Warrick & the last thing we needed to draft is another SF

proverbs aka DD:
Andrew Bynum personally worked out with the lakers a few times.. He claimed that the Lakers gave him a 'unofficial nod' that they were going to pick him. Because supposedly, he was thinking about withdrawing his name and going to college.

Phil Jackson and Mitch Kupchak both saw him worked out and liked what they saw. Yea yea yea.. He won't be an instant draft and start player like some of the other rookies will be. But he'll definetly be a key player in the next 2-3 years when the lakers get their 'kinks' out and become a contender again.

For now, the lakers are going to see if he and Mims can handle the center position, if not, then they'll retain Vlade.

See what I mean? Andrew Bynum projected at 23, Gerald Green projected 20 spots higher at 3...What's up with that?

Green was so sure he was going to be selected in the top10 that refuses to make pratice with teams from 11 to 30, that's the main reason why he felt to the #18 spot. Teams already chosed their players without considering Green available afther the #10 pick, and they didnt change the idea at the last moment, selecting a guy they didnt "prove".

It doesn't matter, this guy is supposed to be part of the NBA's future...All the teams who didn't select him (other than the Bucks), including the Lakers, are going to be sorry they didn't select him when they realize he's one of the top players in the NBA a few years from now...That's just what I think, but it amazes me how 17 teams passed up on a top 5 prospect...Luckily, Boston, a team who I enjoy watching, picked him up...PeACe
