hmm... last great album i heard... and by great i mean flawless, because i like a lot of stuff and i thought 2001 was a dope year for hip-hop... was... wait for it.... Masta Ace.  since 1998 (5 years) there's been a bunch of really good albums, and a few great ones.  Ace comes to mind, as does Chronic 2001 (despite its flaws), Deltron 3030, Things Fall Apart, Like Water For Chocolate, Bad Dreams, The Future Is Now... there's a lot of dope stuff out there, to me.  its just sometimes harder to find and appreciate because of the oversaturation of pop.

all of outkast is masterful
