Sidney Crosby is a week away from joining Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Penguins beat out the other 29 NHL teams Friday in an unprecedented draft lottery that gave every club a chance to pick No. 1 and nab Crosby -- the 17-year-old phenom from the Canadian juniors.

Pittsburgh should trade the pick to New York for whoever. If Crosby's as good as people seem to think he'll be the NHL needs him in the biggest market.

Of course as good as he is, I've heard this hype shit before. They did it with Spezza, and Thorton, a a lot more if you go down the chronological list. I won't call this kid the next Gretzky unless he wins the scroring title this year and goes deep in the playoffs. I saw him at the World Juniors, and I didn't see the next Gretzky. Nit that he won't have a great career, but I'm not counting on him to save Hockey.

16th, isles got the 15th.  this shit is ridiculous, we havent made the playoffs in 7 seasons, and we get such a bullshit fucking pick, this is fucked up montreal gets 5th pick....>WTF fuck that shit.  im so pissed

The NHL needed the Rangers or Blackhawks or the Kings to get the 1st pick, however this could lead to Pittsburgh getting a new arena which would save the Pittsburgh Penguin franchaise which is a good thing in the long run.
