DO YOU CONSIDER PAC A BAY AREA RAPPER...
« on: June 20, 2002, 09:35:09 AM »
or a South Cali (L.A.) rapper? It looks like his style is more Bay Area in my opinion, expecially young Pac. He def grew up in the Bay Area, influenced by Richie Rich, Spice 1, and all those Bay cats. He's def a Bay Area rapper IMO. What do you think about it?

I always consider him an Oakland rapper. Yeah I know he from Marin City but Oakland was what he repped on wax first so it always stuck with me.

Yes!  Ive always associated Pac with the Bay.  Not LA.. and def not NY.  He's rep'd the bay from day one.

In his earlier days I would of called him a Bay Area rapper, but as time went on I find he repped for the whole of the west, not just one specific part.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Actually he repped Oakland in the California Love video. And he lived more in Atlanta than in L.A., lol.

I love Pac, but that boy changed with the times and his environment....that is why he was so versatile and successful, yet so controversial and a contradiction.

TUPAC IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE FROM L.A,PEOPLE IN THE BAY ALWAYS HATED ON 2PAC WHEN HE WAS ALIVE...ALL THESE BAY AREA RAPPERS WERE HATING ON PAC BECAUSE THEY SAID HE NEVER REPRESENTED  ANY BAY ARTISTS ON HIS MUSIC.WHICH HE DIDNT EXCEPT FOR SPICE1.IN THE SONG "TO LIVE & DIE IN L.A " DO YOU EVEN HEAR HIM MENTION THE BAY ONCE, IN MATTER OF FACT ON THE WHOLE MAKEVELI CD.

^^^ Well that's true people do hate on him SOMETIMES here in tha bay because he kinda sold out when he went to Death Row and kinda forgot all about tha bay in like 2 years......Although he did show some luv he didn't do it enough, I mean he wouldnt be shit without tha bay......
But see, that's cuz he died too early, I bet he would've showed EXTRA luv if he waz alive a bit more......

2 LIVE and die in L.A.....He said LIVE which he waz livin there form now on and he wants to die there, that dont mean he aint representin tha bay......He wouldn't wanna live in Oakland or in Frisco or somewhere like that here in tha bay cuz L.A waz more suitable 4 him at that point of his life......
I mean what would he do in tha bay? Get into hella shit in tha streets and fuck up his career......plus u can't go mainstream here in tha bay......it's nearly impossible, gotta migrate.

And he's an Oakland-Based rapper as WCV said......He did live in Marin City but if yall go to Marin you'll see its a small piece of shit town, It's so close to Oakland too......like 5 minutes apart.
