Just like I did not like the shit with Bishop Lamont, I did not like this either. I really hope he'll prove me wrong, but I have a feeling Warren's album and mixtape will suck.

It's a shame. Before Guerilla Pimpin came out didn't dislike any Warren G track.

Same here.

Warren is my favourite producer and I'm starting to think that I won't like his new album, which might be his last.

"Get you down" and that radio drop got me recovering the illusion I lost after "Guerilla pimpin", but after this... I hope it's only for the mixtape.

yeh same

wack , very wack shit
where is the G-Funk sound?I don't expect no album if the beats are all like this

LOL, and the sad thing is Warren calls this the "new G-Funk" on the song
yeh, and u know why?....

its because of all the criticism he's been gettin from people sayin he makin the same music and not switchin up his sound. whether its criticism from his peers, fans or label executives. coz i was told he reads this forum (and most probably a bunch of other forums aswell) and he for sure sees the heavy criticism he's gettin for makin music that to some people feel is "out-dated" .

besides the small fanbases he got on various westcoast forums, there's alot of people on these forums that aint feelin him or have the view he fell off, and then all the people on the eastcoast forums havin the same negative views on his music.

so now he switchin up his style in the hope that he can gain success again.
i guess thats what the mainstream consumers want. some club/pop style tracks.
all the rap music that sells these days is all sellout music.

since he releasin his album on WEA (warner/elektra/atlantic) , i think that is part of the agreement of them releasin his album that he is told what type of music they want him to make.

i bet if his album was released on independant , then we could get some real good gfunk music.
i wanted him to release albums on major labels so that he could hopefully gain success again and then he will be makin more music in the future, but if all his new music sounds like similar stuff to this, then i have no interest in buying his future albums.

but i know its business and he just tryin to get his paychecks, and i wish the best for him, but this new music of his aint for me. well to put it simple its wack, just like all the other shit thats out at the moment, and to the people that say we should support these new up and coming rappers,... i will only do so if they make some music that appeals to me. when i first got into rap, it was from songs that i heard on the radio which i thought were tight, so then i listened to these artists albums and like what i heard and then bought their LP's . i'm not gonna support some rappers for the simple fact that they are new so therefore i should support these artists. if i support artists with weak music, then as a consumer, im just adding to the general calibre of music to be very poor, and so therefore helping the airwaves to stay filled with garbage music. i think its come to the time, that music these days just aint worth buyin. from the looks of things, i guess i'll just be downloading music only.

Yeah... Guerilla Pimpin', Get You Down, and That's It were all tight in my eyes... but this new one... sounds like he's trying to do some Neptunes shit... I don't get it...

Go to Amazon.com and you'll see that the label he is on is called Light Year... go to lightyear.com and you'll see what kind of record label it is... underground artists/nobody's/childrens cd's... Warren's lost it I think... this is just a bad business venture... We'll see...

But Warren seems like he's gonna try marketin himself as a mainstream artist again... but with this label, he won't have promotion or distribution... I'm starting to get real turned off about Warren...

I just wish he would take his time and find the right deal... not just anything... he can't find a good deal to save his life... he gets dicked over by every company he's ever signed to... he should've signed to Aftermath back in 2000 when Dre wanted him... he probably would've never come out with Return of the Regulator but when he finally dropped an album he would've went platinum and the thoughts of him fallin off and retirin woulda never come up

Get You Down is hot like the sun but this snippet....I don't know about this shit. It does sound like a Neptune beat.

The thing is that Neptunes' music doesn't sell cause it's good, it sells cause Neptunes are famous. Artists that imitate that sound looking for a hit don't see that.

For me it's a (weak) cross between the 'Tunes and Timbo.

I'll try to think that it'll be just the single, his attempt to blow up, and the rest will be "Get you down" style. Or the mixtape being G-Funk and the album G-Crap. Anyway, by the end of the year I'd like a total of 15 dope tracks to make my own Warren G album.

Don't like it but if this song can help him to have success (what I doubt) I'm not against that  8)

Yeah, I definitely agree with what other dude said. I will try to think this track is just the single and the rest of the album is 'get you down' style because I had huge hopes with his new album when I heard 'guerilla pimpin', 'that's it', and 'get you down'. Now that hope been shaken quite hard with this snippet. Then again snippets are reallly never good indicators. I know when I listen to the samples on amazon and then I hear the actual album, it is always a completely different feel for me. I will wait till the cdq version of this track comes out to give it another try. Until then I will say this track is alright. :-\

I don't think it's a bad business move. TQ released Listen on the same label and he once said he makes like 8 bucks per unit.
