Above The Law - Livin' Like Hustlers

What do y'all think about that album?
I just wanted to start a topic about that album, because it is a underrated classic for me. It's the first time that Dre used the g-funk beats (altthough I'm not a big Dre fan). I can't stop listen to it for a couple of years now.

Yeah, it's a great record. You can feel Dre's influence on a lot of songs although he didn't produce the whole album.

Actually Dre only produced two tracks and mixed the album. Most of the album was completed before they were signed. And Dre didn't use any G-Funk inspired albums until he heard Black Mafia Life and used many of those ideals for the Chronic.
LHL came out in 1990.
DR. DRE DID NOT COME UP WITH "G-FUNK" THE NAME OR SOUND.
People still giving props to fake prophets.

If you like "Livin' Like Hustlers", be sure to check out Above The Law's EP "Vocally Pimpin'. It builds a bridge between their first album and "Black Mafia Life".

its funny.. i have all 3... i dont like vocally pimpin much at all, i prefer black mafia life over livin like hustlers, (and uncle sams curse comes in 3rd... only because of 'black superman' one of the top 10 west coast tracks ever).
these days i bump BML every fortnight or so and LLH every month or so.. (normally with 'no one can do it better' in a ruthless phase)
(i'm throwing vocally pimpin into my work bag for tommorow to give it a relisten.. my taste changes over time...)

Above the Law is shit! Uncle Sam's Curse is their best album. "Black Superman" and "Kalifornia". Hell yeah!
