Boston's payroll is right up there. I hate when people assume Boston is some low budget team. They spend more than anybody else, outside the Yankees.

Boston's payroll is right up there. I hate when people assume Boston is some low budget team. They spend more than anybody else, outside the Yankees.

true, but the difference between the yanks and sox payroll is more then some team entire payroll.  Im not sure off the top of my head but the yanks payroll is 208 million while the sox is 120 i believe.  70-80 million is a lot of money to play around with.

It so tight that'll probably come down to the last 3 games of the year.  Unfortunatey both teams will probably not make it with the Indians doing so well.  I am a Red Sox fan but more than that I'm a BASEBALL fan so I try not to be biased.  I do believe though that the Sox will prevail and be the eastern division champs.  They're pitching, while not great, is better than the Yanks by a hair.  Also the Yanks have some injuries right now that may be catistrophic to thier team.  Look for the Sox to win the east by 2.5 games.  I also think that no matter which team makes it to the playoffs that neither will be in the world series.  Both of their pitching staffs are really sub-par this year and with the Indians, White Sox and Angels both playing extremely well this year, I'd be willing to bet that neither the Sox or the Yanks will be winning a pennant.
