It's not bad.  The concept could have been executed a little better.
I want to hear a better version to see how good the production is.

A decent track (especially for a lead single). The song is about his inner-struggle to decide whether or not to retire as an MC.

if there is no passion involved, and you don't feel like expressing yourself in a witty way and reaching the people through your songs, it's a no-brainer to me. just retire, period.
you clearly see he lost all his anger and passion he was loaded with a couple years back. his verses no longer aim at perfection, but more at getting the minutes filled. the fire is out and if he can't gain the fuel to fire it up again, there's no better option than retirement. sad as it is.

I thought Mockingbird was one of the only decent things on Encore.

Speaking of Encore, what did the Source give it? They finally had an excuse to give Em a shit rating, I'm sure they did.

His problem is he tries to rap too melodically too often. It was amazing on The Way I Am and still great on Em Show but he's run out of melodies. It's just not fresh, (or even cohesive), any more. Someone needs to tell him he's not one of the great melody writers of all time like Elton John.

Fucking guy just needs to start rapping again. I don't care if he's rhyming about a homosexual encounter in graphic detail so long as he's spitting like he spits naturally.

It's a bit better than most of TES, but still only mildly impressive  :-\ he's done these kinds of tracks many times before and the beat is only ok at best, heard it twice on the radio today and thought it was meh, peace.
