What exactly was "Murder was the case"?
« on: December 01, 2005, 08:11:59 PM »
I vaguely remember seein a video tape or somethin for Murder was the case back when the soundtrack dropped, and I vaguely remember it bein a 20 minute mini-movie...but I could be trippin because I was in 4th/5th grade when that dropped. But what was it? I always saw it bein promoted as a soundtrack, but I never really knew if there was a real movie for it. I just remember the cover for the album that had the (1974-1994) or somethin like that on it.

Interesting...I just searched it on Google, and it showed that it was movie that was 50 minutes long. I guess it followed the storyline to the song, Murder was the case.

It's interviews and perfromances for the first half hour, then a lil 20 minute movie.  I remember I was 11 when it came out and my parents wouldn't let me watch it lol.  I had to rent it from the chineese place cuz they didn't care lol.

Murder Was The Case is now available on DVD with some extra Snoop Dogg videos, but strangely there's no videos from the soundtrack (which was hawt).

I still have my VHS of it.

I remember hearing Swoop G "20 Dollars" in the movie when Snoop was sitting on the lowrider and I looked for that song for years until I finally found out who sang it a few years back thanks to this forum.

The movie was pretty wack though. The last part of the movie was just the music video.

The movie was pretty wack though. .

say whut? imo the "movie" was dope as fuck! pretty cool story and it was more a long video like jacko did it with thriller.
and remember it was in 1994. the sdtk is still the bomb.

That pretty much sums it up; Snoop & Dre were going for rap's answer to Thriller.

It's just disappointing there wasn't more of the soundtrack in the film (just beats in the background).
