Early So So Def Recordings........
« on: March 29, 2002, 09:54:49 PM »
I've got a couple of So So Def recordings from 93-94, and Jermaine Dupri used to be tight as fuck.  It's straight up G-Funk style.  If y'all are lookin for some of that G-Funk from back in the day, Check out some albums like Da Brat "Funkdafied", and Kriss Kross "Da Bomb".

No he didn't, JD just sampled him a lot and copied his g-funk formula on those records.  I like how on "Sittin' On Top of the World" Da Brat is like "Said I sound like the Pound and my shit was wack" referring to the critics who attacked her & JD for copying the formula.

I used to be a big Jermaine Dupri fan back in jr. high when I was a wannabe pimp, I used to bump Kriss Kross "Young Rich and Dangrous" album 24/7.  I was into everything So So Def dropped.  Even Jermaine's first solo album 1472, was blazin, that track produced by DJ Premeir featuring Snoop and Warren, that was blazin, the whole album was tight back then, Jagged Edge first album, Da Brat first album, all tight, it wasn't till 99 that I finnally stopped fucking with So So Def.

Yeah, I didn't even think twice about buying Instructions, which is ironic considering how much play "1472" got in my ride.
