:) he drop albums like rain. I used to like his music on his "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back" and Kurupts "Street is a mutha" . But realy, he have never changed his style on the records, he is to origional.. he should try to reinvent himself
In my opinion he have fallen off big
Has he fallen off?

I still like Daz a good deal of his stuff is sort of boring though
-
I agree that Daz is the same thing over and over agian, but it does not really bother me. If that's the type of rappers you're looking for (growth etc.), DPG is the total wrong camp to support
-
Daz should just stick to producing. He can still be successful in the area. As a solo rappers, he's lame now.
-
He's not consistent, but very few artists with his kind of work ethic are. The last Daz music I really dug was the 'Dogg Pound Gangsta LP', which I loved.
You know the easiest way to deal with being tired of hearing him though? Don't listen ;)
-
well he dropped RR&GB, RAW, and This Is The Life I Lead one after another. I think he's fighting to stay relevant and trying everything from staying true to Cali to Gangsta Crunk. I can't knock his hustle and I think he can still do his thing.
-
he drop albums like rain.
C'mon. Give a muthafucker a break. He gotta pay his rent and send cheques to his babies' mommas(if there are any). Albums ain't selling as good as they used to so that's why he drops them more often.
-
I can't knock his hustle. He has flipped the indie game to work in his favor for so long. I don't know how he can reinvent himself. I think lyrically he brought the heat on CIA & SSG. I think he is better suited for independent releases. I say it like anything else, if you don't like it don't listen or buy it. It's not like he is all over the radio or TV so it should be easy not to listen to him.

god this guy read my mind. DPGCLP was the last Daz effort I gave half a care about.

DPGLP was a good album. No Kurupt disses on there, just good music. SSG is dope too.

-
Nah man he aint fell off shit he's a hustla and he gets his paypa
-
soso gangsta was a good album but he def sounds kinda tired on it
-
to me it sounds like hatin....Daz aint puttin a gun to your head and makin you buy his shit.

I think Daz just records A LOT. Now that he’s putting out his own records he’s got no one to tell him to sit on a record or re-record this or scrap that or whatever. It kind of makes sense to me now after seeing all the unreleased shit from Death Row and hearing about how the So So Gangsta album was recorded three times over. It seems like people who manage Daz as an artist see how much music he makes and how it varies in consistency. They have him in the studio 24/7 then take a look at everything he records and just put out (what they feel is) the best shit.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a BAD thing to drop so many albums, I do however think Daz really needs to keep them sounding like they were worthy of being put out. By that I mean when an album comes out where there is poor mixing, or audio clipping (volume turned up too high) or there is no mastering work.. . to me that is the only time I really get disappointed because it just kills it. Like with the “Dogg Pound Gangsta LP” I mean… Daz what the fuck? That might have been your best album next to RAW or Retaliation but when you've got the recording engineer mixing or you save a buck by skipping the mastering it can never reach its full potential. If Daz spent the money to get those albums mixed by really talented people (think Quik mixing All Eyez on Me Daz production) and mastered by the best hip hop mastering engineers (think Brian Gardner who does all dre’s records) then 90% of Daz’s releases would get double the positive feedback because they would sound 10x better.

I agree, Daz is pretty boring.
-
daz perhaps is no lyrical genius and he drops albums that are no classics cause there are always songs on it that dont fit the album or just suck 8) but he has an unique voice, and does not sound like any other rappers + in my opinion he is one of the best when it comes to delivery :)
for me daz is alright cause i ll take the best songs of every album he drops (tons of songs) and make compilations out of it :) then you have one of the greatest west coast artists EVER :) but if you are the guy that is listening to albums then you should stop listen if he bores you
-
im always interested in hearin a new daz album... sometimes i think he should take more time wit an album,. but fuck it its still dope
-
i pretty much like most of daz's releases man. id personally like him to release more than less
-
I haven't bought a Daz album since 2000 and I can't imagine that changing anytime soon. He tries too hard to be mainstream and can't pull it off. He should stick to what he's good at.
-
thats what i love about Daz, he puts out music! hehe, i wish crooked I had his ability to actually put out a record..
-
Daz is what he is at this point...I think it's too late for him to even try to reinvent himself... The fact is that even if he really did try to change, half of you would be posting about how much he has SOLD OUT. I think the time he wasted beefin with Dre and to a lesser extent Snoop kind of hurt him in the long run but Daz will always have a core group of fans who will always expect the gangster/hustle type of rap...Sometimes his producing is still dope.
-
his lyrics are boring sometimes but i still like his music. I liked So So Gangsta allot great party beats.
-
i like his music, from the beginning 2 the end ;D of cause some tracks are better than others, but.. ya knoow :)
-
im luvin the latest albums he has dropped it has that dope g funk.
-
There's no Daz album that I don't like. There's some songs that I can't get into, but overall I like his LP's. It would be cool to hear him try to rap like he used to (like on Big Pimpin), but I got no problems.
-
If U tired hearing DAZ don't listen to him but I can't understand why making threads like this !!
ARE U A HATER ??? :o :o
-
Go and buy some of the other artists that are putting out albums such as Crooked I, Glasses, or Dr. Dre!!!
-
yea i don't understand the hate on daz.. it's not like he's mainstream.. you basically have to FIND him to hate on him..
I think Daz style is great. I love hearing his flows when he is rapping on songs with more than 3 rappers. I thought he drop some of the better flows on "One Blood" remix and "Candy" recently, as well as the old stuff like Represent That DPG, and Bitches aint shit
-
Daz has still got a nice flow. It's just after hearing him say the same shit over and over again for so many years, it gets tiring. Somebody tell Daz to diversify his bonds.

agreed
he should stop yelling all time ... ::)
-
everything daz has touched got shitstains all over it. from dogg food to dogg poop.
-
To be honest he's been putting together better albums then most. I just think you have to be a little older to respect his music more. I was kinda dissapointed with his SoSo Def release but thats because I heard like 80% of it before it was released and it was more commercial, which isn't bad for him because it puts his name out there a lil more so peeps can buy his independant records.
Dogg Pound Gangsta LP is a near classic to me. You can play it all the way through if you in the mood just to kick back and chill.
Raw was what the title was "raw".
He's definitely better off as a group artist or a guy who would be better with more features but hey you can't say he's not talented. Ain't too many guys can rap decent and make the beat too. Matter of fact as far as the lyrics I think he's pretty good on some songs. He has a good feel on how to make a good album.
