Title: I have a renewed HATRED for Boston...
Post by: Now_Im_Not_Banned on October 16, 2007, 10:04:56 AM
As Laker fans, we've always rivaled what the Celtics stood for... but in recent years, it was hard to hate on the Celtics, with them being a struggling young team, and the Laker franchise being lightyears ahead ever since Bird left. In fact, I actually LIKED the Paul Pierce led Celtics for some time, and felt for them/wanted to see them succeed. I didn't see any more Boston Celtic in the Boston Celtics. But I was blind... Now, I can't wait to see them lose again. The anticipation to watch KG regret not asking to play for the Lakers, his decision to avoid pushing his front office to send him to LA, alongside the greatest player in the league on the greatest franchise of all time. What a big mistake...The Celtics are an evil franchise, Celtic pride is ultimately what got KG in Boston to begin with (Ainge and McHale's Celtic connection)...FUCK BOSTON. KG, you will WISH that you shined in purple & gold instead of green by the time your career is done...PeACe

KG didn't want to go a team with a shitty front office.  Can you blame him?  Their star player wants out.

But keep on keeping on with your hate for Boston, it's what's right.

^^LMAO. He didn't wanna go to team with shitty FO, so he went to Boston? AHAHAHAHAH....Check Jery Buss' tracking record. The winningest owner in the league. Yes, KG made a very dumb mistake, and I do blame him. Soon enough, he'll see it himself...PeACe

Boston ain't winning a title anyways ... a real LA fan acts the same as Nicholson ...   ;D apparently he didn't want a single person with a Celtic jersey on "stage" (or whatever you name it ) when he was acting in "the Departed"

Like Phil said...

"Where did he get his information from?  What does his statement mean? Does he even know our organization? ... I don't think anybody has a better winning record as an owner than Jerry Buss ... He doesn't want to win? I just kind of brush that off as not understanding the situation."

Guess KG would rather have a shot at making the finals rather playing for the "greatest franchise of all time, alongside the greatest player in the league...blah blah....blah blah...." lol

1st place in the East > 7th in the West. Maybe thats how he sees it.

playing with paul peirce AND ray allen or playing with kobe and ______

like KG said when he heard ray allen had gone to the celtics it directed his attention that way.

also i'd like to add that many consider the celtics the nba's greatest franchise.

Yeah that puts me in a tough position. See Paul Pierce is my 2nd favorite player and has been since his rookie season so I want to see him win. But Celtic fans are pissing me off. As soon as they signed KG they were all over sports message boards laughing at how bad the Lakers suck. Overnight success is a a muthafucka. I'm just waiting for that Len Bias curse to kick in.

Atleast the Celtics were able to make a move something the Lakers couldn't do.  Why go to a place where they won't help their main guy?

lol that's the BIGGEST factor in determining how great a franchise is though, lol that overshadows almost any combination of any other factor, championships.

it's what holds back people from putting far superior players from others like Marino over Montana

homie, i was being sarcastic. The ONLY thing that could even come close to number of Championships is MAYBE win percentage over a franchises time in the league. Of course most people judge off Championships.

1. There's the Laker Fan who thinks, even when the Lakers aren't getting out of 1st round (losing to the same team, twice in a row), the Lakers are still the team to beat in the NBA.

2. There's the Laker Fan who thinks rationally and is able to admit defeat.

End of the day, they're all Laker Fans. Just some are a little more level headed (number 2).

Point is, now we're healthy, and improved...2 years in a row, we coulda' had the Suns, but had some set-back...I'm a realist, but I also have faith in my team...Some people just never will understand what team pride is...Then again, some people root for the Clippers. :-X

Yes, you had some set back, namely they weren't good enough to beat the Suns, PERIOD. 1 rebound away or not, they lost! But yeah, I'm down with the Clippers, since the Ron Harper/Ken Norman/Danny Manning years. I know that they've been a horrible team throughout so many years. But, I could ALWAYS be like you: "The Clippers would've won the Championship last year if they were healthy! Shaun Livingston only played 54 games and Cassell only 58!!! Had they been healthy they would've won! They're the team to beat (when healthy of course)!" That's living in a fantasy land where everything is positive and all is good, but back in reality, we know the Clips were 20+ games from first and had no chance. Once you can admit defeat without having some excuse, then you can join the level headed Laker fans.

Are you retarded? Seriously, now...If you were a real Laker fan, you'd realize that we were playing without Chris Mihm last season, a key big. Without Kwame for most of the season, another key big, who just so happens to anchor the low post defense. Then we had NO input from Radmanovic, a player who was supposed to be a big contributor, all because of his situation...Odom was playing hurt for the 2nd half of the season, Luke was injured, Mo Evans was injured, we were a battered team who had a chance to go 2-2 in the first round against the Suns if it weren't for Donaghy...Of course, you're a pessimistic media-groupie with no Laker pride, though, so you'll keep your head down without realizing any of that...without realizing that Mihm is back. Without realizing we addressed our 2 biggest concerns with ONE signing (Fisher, erasing the veteran leadership and point guard voids of the last 2 seasons), without realizing we got a lottery prospect in the draft, without realizing a year of tri experience is EXTREMELY valuable for players like Bynum, Kwame, Farmar, Luke, Sasha, Turiaf, Radman, etc...without realizing shit...and why? Because you're a media-groupie, a pessimistic "Laker fan" who has no pride in him whatsoever, and loves to report all the negatives without even glancing over at the positives...BabyG, you'll ALWAYS be a BabyG when it comes to Laker dicussion...Unless you completely change your mind-state...but I truly don't see that happening...PeACe

They both had key players get injured this past season. With both teams 100%, who knows what they may or may not have done. Clippers are not a Championship caliber team, but neither are the Lakers.

Lol I just tell it how it is - you tell it how you wish it was. At the end of the day nothing I've said about this team in the past 2 years has been wrong. Last year around this time I said the West got tougher and the Lakers didn't make ANY upgrades. You called me a fake fan and went on and on about how great of an addition Vlad was and how valuable Shammond Williams would be. Who was right? The Lakers went home after 5 games. Keep living in a dream world but atleast wake up when you wanna talk to me. Everyone who post in the sports section (except your but buddy Ted) knows that you're the groupie and I'm the fan.

I guarantee that everyone knows who the real Laker fan is, on the inside at least. That's why the Laker haters always side with you and the ones with real Laker pride side with me...As for your homosexual fantasies about me and Ted, I never even spoke with the guy outside this board, so stop with the gayness...Last year, I was right and you were wrong...We played excellent up until the all-star break and the injury pile-up, and we were even amongst the elite...Of course, your pessimistic "Laker fan" ass will never wanna acknowledge that...shut the fuck up and become a Mavs fan or some shit. Weren't you the one with that quote, "I can't wait to see the Mavs win the west," before last season began? The fuck outta here, son...PeACe

You've brought that quote up like 70 times. Yeah I said I can't wait to see the Mavs win". Big deal. Everyone has their picks at the start of the season. Only difference is, mine are realistic - yours are fantasy. How the fuck were you right? I said the Lakers didn't make any adjustments and were going to struggle to make the playoffs - they finished 2 games over .500. How the fuck was I wrong?

Lol I don't know why I'm arguing with you. You're the same guy who was happy to see us trade away Caron Butler for Butterfinger Brown. And you're the same guy who was happy to see us throw away our MLE on the Space Cadet. And you're the last NBA fan on the planet who's expecting Lamar Odom to make the All-Star team.

The Lakers have been playing like the Clippers since Shaq left... So right now it's safe to say Clippers = Lakers. With Cassell playing a majority of games, the Clippers were able to advance to the second round (with the Lakers exiting in the first). If Brand, Cut, Cassell & Maggette were to stay healthy, the Clipperes would be in the playoffs easy. But with Brand pretty much done this season and Livingston out for most of the season as well, the Clippers need Brevin Knight to step up and come off the bench for Cassell (Homeboy is 37 now, not much left in his tank). Al Thorton, Maggette, Patterson and especially Tim Thomas need to step up a lot more to fill in the void for Brand being out. Kaman just needs to continue to play as hard as he has been. He needs to bang the boards some more though. So my hopes aren't too high for this season. That's just being a real fan though. Being able to grasp reality...

Coulda shoulda woulda. We lost! And we haven't made any real improvements other than addition by subtraction (getting rid of Smush Parker).

I bring up that quote because it defines you. The point is, your pick at the beginning of last season (the Mavs) were just as capable as the Lakers, which made what you said extremely pathetic (if you consider yourself a Laker fan, that is). Lakers did make adjustments and only struggled to make the playoffs through lack of players due to injury, not through lack of depth, son...But your punk ass STILL refuses to see it, and that stems from your lack of Laker pride. Maybe the Caron-for-Kwame trade wasn't the best, but without Kwame, we would not even be a playoff team, considering our low post defense consists of Kwame 100%...Radmanovic, as well, was not a bad signing at 30 mill, considering Seattle offered him 42 mill for the same deal. Of course, a non-basketball head like you wouldn't see it, because all you saw was an injured Radmanovic playing at 50% for half a season, so your simple mind automatically assumes that he's a terrible player, when it's not even close to the truth...and I'm still laughing at your punk ass Josh Howard all-star loving ass acting like Odom isn't an all-star caliber player. :grumpy:

LOL@Lakers=Clippers...Too funny. The Clippers make the playoffs once in a span of 10 years, and all of a sudden their fans actually think they're on the same level as the Lakers. Classic. Seriously, though, the Clippers are back to their old ways, while the Lakers are unquestionably a playoff team year in and year out...even WITH drastic injuries, which can't be said for the Clippers, cuz we all saw what happens when some Clipper players get injured...Just like you said "If Brand, Cut, Cassell & Maggette were to stay healthy, the Clipperes would be in the playoffs easy," I say, "If Odom, Luke, Kwame & Radmanovic were to stay healthy, the Lakers would be elite easy"...It's the same thing. So don't come in here talking shit when all I'm doing is being a fan with pride...If anything, talk shit to those who show no soul, like BabyG...PeACe

You saying is Luke, Odom, Kwame & Radmanovic staying healthy makes your team elite, it makes me laugh. One, those are in no way players who make any team elite. You were the one going around saying that Kobe needs better players around him, but now all of a sudden, these players being healthy, and they are elite? That's not being realistic.

Funny isn't it? I saw this team is a D-League team and stick to it = I have no soul, I'm pessimistic, blah blah blah. But he says they're a D-League team then changes his mind as says "we're elite when healthy" and that makes him a true fan.

Wow so you're saying Smush Parker was the only D-Leaguer? What about Sasha? What about missed-layup Evans? What about crybaby Cook? Hell even Bynum wouldn't be the best player in the D-League.

Los Angeles Lakers from the 2006-2007 Roster that are still with the team this year:

Kwame Brown
Kobe Bryant
Andrew Bynum
Brian Cook
Maurice Evans
Jordan Farmar
Chris Mihm
Lamar Odom
Vladimir Radmanovic
Ronny Turiaf
Sasha Vujacic
Luke Walton

Subtract

McKie (10 games one year, 14 the next... LMAO)
Shammond Williams (30 games... haha)
Parker (The ONLY player who was playing a major role and is now gone)

Add

Derek Fisher
Coby Karl
Javaris Crittenton
Sun Yue

Can you really sit here and say that the D-Leaguers are gone?

Lose 3, gain 4. But 2 of the 3 lost never really did anything for the team to begin with... Where did the D-Leaguers go?

LMAO@Bynum not being the best player in D-League :grumpy:...Evans is not a D-League player, he's a role player. I'll give you Sasha and Cook, but I'd be surprised to see either of them getting major minutes this season, and Sasha stepped his game up, from what I've seen in the pre-season...Either way, most of the comments you make are pathetic, if you truly consider yourself a Laker fan...It's all good, keep your head down, though. You're the type of dude who only rides with his team when they're winning...LOL. It takes a true fan to support his team through thick and thin. Can't say that much for you...PeACe

Lakers 2006-2007 starting line-up with injury pile up:

PG Smush Parker
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Maurice Evans
PF Brian Cook
C Andrew Bynum

Out:
Lamar Odom
Luke Walton
Kwame Brown
Chris Mihm
Vladimir Radmanovic
Jordan Farmar
Ronny Turiaf
Aaron McKie

Do you get the picture yet? Obviously, one of us was following the Lakers, and one of us has no clue what the fuck he's talking about and is only here to ride nuts...It's all good, I understand...Let me show you what our line-up will look like this year:

PG Derek Fisher...Jordan Farmar/Javaris Crittenton
SG Kobe Bryant...Sasha Vujacic/Coby Karl
SF Luke Walton...Vladimir Radmanovic/Maurice Evans
PF Lamar Odom...Ronny Turiaf/Brian Cook
C Kwame Brown...Andrew Bynum/Chris Mihm

So yea...if you compare some of the key components in our team last year to the key components this year, you will clearly see that we actually have depth to work with, and that some players who were forced to start last year will be 3rd string bench players this year...PeACe

See, you use the "injuries" as a crutch. You were hopping mad that there was D-Leaguers playing key roles, as if thats how it was meant to be. If it was just due to injuries, you shouldn't have been so mad. The FO, Kobe, or yourself can't help when people get injured, so how can you talk bad about "your" team in that situation? Overall, you really meant that the players the team had were D-Leaguers... and now that we've called you out on it, you're backtracking, as usual.

Kobe was forced to play with lesser talent due to the FOs incompetence. The FO had major opportunities to acquire more all-star level talent, but was being sketch about it...So if we, let say, signed Baron Davis or traded for Carlos Boozer when we had the chance, all those injuries wouldn't have really left us as thin...Now, though, we're at full strength and there's no looking back...If we have another injury filled season like last year, then no, we wont be doing any major damage...but one can only hope that nothing like that happens two years in a row.

Granted, they didn't get the big names like they should have, but what's to say BD or Boozer would've stayed healthy? What would've happened if Boozer were to have got injured? You can't blame the FO or the team for that. It happens. You probably would've still called the team D-Leaguers... But all in all, the roster still looks the same to me with just a few minor changes. You claimed the D-Leaguers are gone, but they are STILL there. If Brown goes down again this year, who's taking his place? Bynum. Mo Evans and Cook are still there... etc. C'Mon guy. Do you really wanna ride my nuts that bad that you can't see that?

If that had been the case, then failure would have had nothing to do with a lack of effort on the FOs part, now would it? See, you're missing the whole point...Either that, or you're just being stubborn so you can keep this going on and on. Cuz I've clearly stated my case, and it makes sense 100%. You're talking about what I "probably" would've done, instead of going off of facts. If Kwame goes down this year, we have MIHM and Bynum with an extra year under his belt. Mo Evans is not bad at all. Cook is a spot up shooter who will not be forced to play major minutes this year. A lot of people agree with me cuz I tell it how it is. I never have been the type to make people think my fantasy is what it really is. I would love it if the Lakers were a championship contending team, but at the end of the day - they're far away! And after this summer, I think Kobe realizes that, and realizes that this Bynum led team is going to be in the same position for some time. You can keep setting yourself up for disappointment but like I said - NOTHING I've said about the Lakers has been wrong. Did the Lakers finish with a number 4-5 seed? No. Did they beat the Suns? No. Did they make any improvements to keep up with the competition? No. Call it what you want but I keeps it real.

You're only in here to ride nuts, not to discuss basketball, just like every thread you follow me into...and the saddest part is that BabyG is blindly following you, LOL. a nutriding Clipper fan. SGV, I can't take you seriously, ESPECIALLY not in basketball threads. I said that Kobe was forced to play with D-League level talent due to injuries, and I proceeded to provide a breakdown of the rosters to display what I was talking about, then you disregarded it and went back to riding nuts...Try again...PeACe

^^LOL...I'm a Kobe fan before a Laker fan? Then you wonder why no one takes your ass seriously...Saying "I can't wait to see the Mavs win the west" is not being a realist, it's being a dirty fan...You would never understand what Laker pride is- rooting for the Clippers for all those years can kill a fan mentality. BabyG, you should be ashamed that this Clipper fan is sticking by you...:puke:

Just because SGV is fat doesn't make him a lot of people... Dude doesn't even agree with you, he's just notorious for riding my nuts. He wouldn't be in this thread if it weren't for me, guaranteed. So calm down with your excitement over "people agreeing" with you. The fact of the matter is that you're not keeping shit real...you look down on things.. the only time you actually ride with the team is when they're winning. I can name 10 better Laker fans than you on WCC alone. Does that mean they're all living in a fantasy? No...It just means that they aren't pessimistic fucks, and they they realize we have something going, if you take into account how we play at full strength...especially considering the time the tri takes to learn, and the years the core has spent growing together and developing their game/finding themselves, on top of improvements/adjustments that were made to the roster (Fisher, Critt, Mihm)... It's all gravy though. I bet you sleep good knowing Clipper fans agree with your mind-state...PeACe

See thats exactly why you're gay.

I'm not keeping it real I'm looking down on things? Ok with the exception of Kobe's brilliant performances, what in the fuck was I supposed to look up at in the last 3 years? Us giving away Caron Butler for Kwame Brown? Or us missing out on Jason Kidd cuz we didn't want to trade a 19 year old who's competing with Chris Mihm for playing time? Oh I know, that 3-1 lead we blew against the Stoudemire-less Suns. All upsides right? Lol

This "us at full stregnth" crap is bullshiet. If every player in the NBA lived up to their potential and was healthy all the time, then Miami (yes the team that just got swept by the Bulls) would be the best team in the league. I don't live in this IF world you live in. I look at it how it is. Every season Odom underachieves and gets injured. Luke gets injured every season. You say the same bullshiet about triangle-experience ever year.

Where the fuck are all these improvements you keep talking about? If we improved then why is Kobe asking to be traded to our biggest rival since the Kings?

Face it - this team is not good and Mitch/Jerry/Jim are only going to make it worse. Keep in mind we just finished last season 2 games above .500 and could've very easily missed the playoffs all together had it not been for the Clippers collapsing. When Kobe gets traded or opts out and leaves, and Phil Jackson doesn't re-sign you'll see. We'll see how happy you are when Bynum/Cook/Sasha/etc are taking us into the lottery every summer.

The truth is, BabyG, you're just a dumbass...Nothing gets across to you, which is why I have to keep repeating myself. Kobe requested a trade because the front office lied to him and gave a shit less about his and Phil Jackson's input regarding trades/signings...That doesn't mean the team we have now is no good...Please try using your common sense, BabyG...When the Lakers start winning, you will be the one who will have to eat your words. If the Lakers suck, then I guess I'd be proven wrong. But at least no one will be able to say I was a prideless doubter...PeACe

I root for them no matter what dickhead. I just don't live in this fantasy world where the Lakers are the best team every year. Take Phil Jackson & Kobe away and this team has a guaranteed slot in the lottery every year. Thats not a good team. Thats a HOF coach and a top 10 player of all time carrying a load of scrubs to the first round every year.

It was true...VERY true, before the injury bug hit us...I went to game 1 of last years Laker season, and we came back from 19 down to smash on the Suns, WITH NO KOBE. The next game I went to, we beat Houston for the second time in two weeks, followed by a strong victory against the Mavs on January 7th, which I also happened to attend...What can I say, attending 3 consecutive Laker games like that must've made me a believer. If I see something with my own eyes, I should have no reason not to expect it again...PeACe

So those 15 of 20 games at home helped us beat every elite team in 1 season? Lamar Odom is lacking something at 15-10-5 on a consistant basis? LMAO. That's gold.
