Title: Anyone else tired of Lebron mania?
Post by: GangstaBoogy on May 24, 2009, 11:53:25 AM
Just went to yahoo sports and I see this headline: Kobe Bryant followed LeBron James' big night with 41 points. The two seem intent on lifting their rivalry to new heights.

Rivalry? Lol. Yeah Kobe wanted to win the game just cuz Lebron won a game. These writers / journalist / analysis / bitches can't say more than 1 sentence without throwing LJ's name in there. I mean he deserves to be praised cuz the dude is playing in whole new zone right now but shiiiit.

Have you seen how Kobe clowned the journalist when he asked him about Lebron in yersterday's postgame conference ? That was priceless

yeah the media fuckin love to do that shit, they ask some of the random questions
now they gon call lebron one of the best as if nuthin happened in the past or as if he still doesnt have more work to do, but based off that 3 he made

and by the way Magic is wack aswell ... he's getting too much in the hype and never stand up for his organization ... SMH at "Denver will take Game 3 " I'm glad Coop called him out

Not really.

Just as Kobe is compared to LBJ, it goes vice versa.   They are the two best players, deep in the playoffs, and there is a reasonable chance they will face each other in the finals.  You know they don't care about the so-called "rivalry" as much as others, but that's just the way these things go.

And Lebron isn't called one of the best because of one shot.  No one has ever had a 5 year run stats wise like him, he is second youngest to ever win an MVP, just finished second in DPOY voting, has already LEAD his team to a finals birth and is on the verge of doing it again, and has consistently raised his level of play in the playoffs from the regular season, and is right now playing on a whole nother level.

So fuck the "one'shot" theory, that is straight reaching

They did the same thing when they followed eachother up with big games earlier in the year...so what. They are trying their hardest to build up hype in the hopes that they meet in the finals. I do agree though, there is no rivalry between the two.  Lebron is the current MVP, end of story.

No. We simply don't have ESPN and shit like that. Man, Kobe is the most popular and loved player in the World. Face it. And his jerseys are the most sold all over the world. WORLD, not Italy.

STATS IN THE 4TH QUARTER BEFORE THE HAIL MARY TRIPLE.

STATS IN THE 4TH QUARTER BEFORE THE HAIL MARY TRIPLE.

LMAO @ your "Hail Mary" call.  Do you know what a Hail Mary is?  Thats like a bomb you throw from the other teams 20 yard line.  That shot LeBron hit was far from a hail mary.  It was like 2-3 feet behind the line, and he was set and released the shot with solid form.  LMAO at all these Laker fans trying to downplay everything LeBron does... ::)

you Kobe lovers will cling to ANY possible reason to love Kobe more then Lebron. Lebron could dominate in EVERY single stat...and youd say you like Kobe better because he has a prettier smile. Its ridiculous.

The reason why Kobes nuts are rode so much on Dubcc is because this is a Westcoast forum and a lot of outta towners love everything LA even when theyve never been there lol.  The same reason so many people on here ride Snoops...Kurupts...Games nuts so much.  The cool thing to do on Dubcc is have a crush on Kobe. lol

i remember stats meaning something when Kobe was all alone, literally; back when he was a ball hog & scored 33 a game.

i recall stats being everything then lol.

LeBron puts up the best stats since Oscar & now they don't mean shit.

60+ wins, led by a guy putting up 30, 8 & 7 a night doesn't mean shit?

Plant is a prime example, defending Lebron to the death, u sound like every other person that does that with kobe and you hate, just cause u think ur right dont mean ur right, that goes the same with the people that say that shit about kobe. LMAO...it's funny how conveniently LeBron dickriders forget how bad he stunk it up in the clutch in BOTH GAMES VS Orlando. Even before he made that shot, he fucked up on 90% of his possessions and put his team in a horrible situation. Kobe carried the Lakers on his back in those victories and clearly proved he was still head-and-shoulders above the rest of the league. The media has you muthafuckaz in a chokehold.

because he has no help, right? ::)

i count Mo Williams for the Cavs & it just about stops there.

Odom - "easily the sixth man"
Pau - "one of the best big men in the league"
Bynum - "will be one of the best bigmen ever!"
Farmar - "has the potential to be one of the great PG's"

now all that's thrown out of the window & Kobe is just doing it by himself lol.

Kobe WAS known as the best closer.  Not today.  Like I said, just man up and enjoy the fact that LeBron is #1 now and Kobe is #2.  Its going to be ok Elior, Kobe is still an amazing player, just not as good as LeBron.  Go check it out and post it up, the best 4th quarter and OT players for the past 2-3 years.  That would end your argument pretty quick.

but give him the Lakers cast when he was a rookie & he would have won every single year in the league.

that's what makes him most impressive, he has nobody and has to carry them & hope they hit shots.

Kobe has it made, he can be off & the Lakers can still win; because he has so much help.

they dont.  they realize he is a joke, but when he makes arguments for Kobe...none of the other Kobe lovers want to go against him, because they feel it will hurt their Kobe argument.  Its like, everything else he says is nonsense...but when he's talkin Kobe Bryant....he makes complete sense lol

I personally think Kobe > Lebron. Could i have this opinion without being labeled as a dickrider? We're talking about n.1 and n.2 in the game, not about Lebron vs Luke Walton, lol.

That said, i was just saying people in here consider Kobe > Lebron.

And people all over the world buys Kobe's jersey more than Lebron's one.

Kobe worldwide has much more respect and love.

Then somebody said it was because Kobe is half-italian, and i replied NO: it's because Lebron isn't clutch as Kobe is.

Posting some stats (check my sig too).

We can discuss about them, if you want. But if you think i'm a Kobe dickrider it's pointless.

I personally think Kobe > Lebron. Could i have this opinion without being labeled as a dickrider? We're talking about n.1 and n.2 in the game, not about Lebron vs Luke Walton, lol.

yes, as long as you dont assume anyone who doesnt put Kobe at the to is a "hater" lol  Kobe fans just seem to think its clear cut that he is the best in the world LOL.  It isnt even clear cut if he is the best PERIMETER player right now. If it were, there wouldnt even be this debate.

Ye but on this board those rules dont apply, people take shit to heart way to easy. I mean u went outta ur way to post a million stats just to try and say that Lebron is better, n im sure u have said Kobe is a rapist along with half those other tools that no nothing about basketball that come and act like they kno shit as soon as the playoffs come around(not sayin thats u cause i know u follow the game). But i mean think about it if someone came on to the spurs forum and started saying ye Dwight is way better then Duncan anyday, u know what i mean. i mean im sure some would agree and some would still back Duncan even tho Dwight is clearly better nowaday( i use this example because this is basically a Lakers forum). But ye i dont know if i made any sense cause i kind of got side tracked but basically this Sports Section is fucked up, and people shouldnt take shit to heart like abunch of girls.

Kobe carried the Lakers on his back in those victories and clearly proved he was still head-and-shoulders above the rest of the league. The media has you muthafuckaz in a chokehold.

Yo Dickwad go check out who has the best 4th quarter numbers in the past 2-3 years and post em up if you are so confident.

why do you think Kobe is known as "the best closer in the game"? huh?? even by the idiots who try claiming lebron is on his level, they still acknowledge KOBE as the best closer. man up and hop off.
That would end your argument pretty quick.

lol@"WAS known", as if Kobe isn't still in his prime. is that why the tnt announcers still refer to him as the best closer? youre such a dickridin moron...and youre not even a cavs fan. sad how you ever had the nerve to call me a kobe dickrider when you clearly slobber all over a dude who doesnt even play for your team. :grumpy:
Yo NIK I might have 100 posts regarding LeBron James because Ive acknowledged hes become the best player in the NBA.  Its impossible to prove to this board, and you guys will never admit LeBron is better.  But Im free to post whatever the fuck I want, just like you are.  Difference is, you have about 20,000+ posts about Kobe.  Now whos the REAL dickrider?

what dont you get? kobe had no opportunity to beat the celtics in game 6 last year, cuz the whole team stunk it up collectively...kobe might be close to god, but he's not at the point where he can singlehandedly beat a team on both ends. Lebron had many opportunities down the stretch to do something big and he fucked it all up...dont u see the fuckin difference? seriously.

that only shows what a bad team player he is. so when Kobe was getting 35 a game in the regular season but his team didn't win shit, what was the deal?  It was all his teammates fault, right?

but with Lebron, name one player who has played at all-star level in the playoffs on the Cavs.  You say Ilgauskas is an all-star, but duide can't defend and can't even hit a jumper right now.  West and Williams are shooting at about 30 percent in the series, so would you pass to them

Fact is, Cleveland is the worst TEAM (as in collection of players) left in the playoffs.  They are too small (which I have said all along), don't have a skilled/athletic post player.  They've had a good run, a great run this year, and could still win the series.  But you better believe this team will add a bigger guard and a better post player.

When has a guy ever average 42, 7 and 7 on 50% shooting and gotten vilified like Lebron is on here?

Answer:  Never.

its the inseurity of the Kobe lovers...
they are obviously insecure about it since Kobe has never had those numbers in reg season or playoffs before.  The only thing Kobe and LeBron have in common is they both been down in a playoff series like this before.  Altho Kobe had Shaq and big shot Bob among others when he was 24....

Imagine what this Cavs team would be like, if you added Shaq in his prime to the team lol

lebron replacing kobe on the threepeat lakers=no threepeat....1 title, 2 at most...not back-to-back, though.

LMFAO!

somehow or another he HAS to realize how stupid he sounds lol.  If someone wants to make an argument that Kobe is better then LeBron right now....fine. That argument can be made.  Just like an argument can be made as to why LeBron is better then Kobe right now. But there is no question that LeBron is lightyears ahead of where Kobe was at this stage in his career lol

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! LIGTYEARS AHEAD? LMAO. Kobe already won three titles at LeBron's age and was already compared to Jordan! He was playing amazing basketball, almost as good as he's playing right now...ROF@"Lightyears ahead"...wow.

Title 1 (age 21):
Shaq 29.7 PPG
Kobe 22.5 PPG
go down the list and no one comes close

Title 2 (age 22):
Shaq 28.7 PPG
Kobe 28.5 PPG
go down the list and no one comes close

Title 3 (age 23):
Shaq 27.2
Kobe 25.2
go down the list and no one comes close

Shaq and Kobe were a duo of a lifetime...people need to stop acting like Kobe was some supporting player in those championship seasons.. without Kobe, there is no threepeat...not even close. You cant replace Kobe with ANYONE on those teams...not even Jordan, cuz I dont see Jordan sacrificing and deferring to Shaq the way Kobe was able to in order to make it work.

LMAO at LeBron "lacking killer instinct"  thats HATE at its finest...dudes averaging over 40 a game...Hit a game winner at the buzzer to win a game in the series.  Hit 2 free throws to send the game into OT the other night.  Did you forget the Cavs were up 2 in that game with 6 seconds left?  Until Rashard hit a great 3 pointer to put Orlando up 2.  What about that fadeaway 3 he nailed falling out of bounds with time winding down?  How is that NOT killer instinct?

LeBron James first 6 seasons

Total Points        = 12,993
Total Assists       = 3,159
Total Rebounds  = 3,307
Total Steals        = 830
Total Blocks        = 405

Kobe Bryant first 6 seasons

Total Assists     = 1,579

do you know what killer instinct is? it's what makes a player take over the game and control the outcome when he's needed to step in. now, had lebron possessed this supposed killer instinct, he wouldnt be playing his worst ball when hes needed most (4th quarters)...Lebron, physically, is a beast. He also knows the game well....BUTTT killer instinct is something that comes natural and it's been the biggest knock on him ever since people tried comparing him to kobe...so to act like i just pull this shit out my ass only makes you look that much more clueless and ignorant, buddy.

did he hit big shots in this serious? no doubt...but every play is running through him, so he's either shooting it or getting the assist. against orlando in the clutch he's missed more shots than he's made and he's turned the ball over more than he's gotten assists...try laughing at that.

cuz kobe's clutchness and huge fourth quarters was a deciding factor in our threepeat...no way lebron could take over games when they need him to the way kobe did. and who's to say that lebron's game would compliment Shaq's as much as kobe's did? kobe having a deadly jumper is part of what gave Shaq so much freedom down-low...and defensively, kobe was already an all-nba defender in the threepeat era....fact of the matter is, lebron and shaq woulda made a nice combo, but it wouldn't be no kobe and shaq...no way, no how.

maybe they wouldn't have worked as well together, i know what your saying there.

but Shaq was the most dominate then & LeBron is the most dominate (unless you put Kobe in front of him lol) now. so my belief is just on pure skill & dominance alone the two could have done what Kobe & Shaq did.

but it's almost something non-debatable from both of our views.

we should start talking & making threads on the Laker/Magic Final; yeah that's right guys, i've given up on LeBron & the Nuggets aren't beating the Lakers in LA if it goes to 7.

One day it's:

Cleveland have the best team in the NBA and Kobe has to do it all by himself

Next day it's

Lakers have the best team and Lebron has to do it all by himself

Not to mention that one day Kobe makes his poor teammates better and the next day it's Lebron that does that.

I really like this Cleveland team, but their "all-star" PG is shooting 32.4 percent (22.2 from deep) for the series.  I wouldn't pass to him at all.  They have NO PREMIER POST DEFENDERS (Wallace is washed up, Ilgauskas is slow as fuck, Varejao is the best yhey have).  They are too small to guard the Magic.

As for Lebron's killer instinct, he has shown throughout the last few years he is a big game player, but you of all people know an elite player can't do everything.  Otherwise, how else can you explain Kobe Bryant in some of the biggest games of his career as a leader not even showing up?

Bottom line:  even superhuman athletes such as Lebron and Kobe can't do everything for their team.

The Lakers are the longest, most talented team in the league and SHOULD win the title, which I have stated all year.  I still don't get how they lost last year.   Their line-up, top to  bottom, is the best, and they are lead by a truly great player.  I don't see how they don't win the title this year IF they play to their potential.  Of course, that may be a BIG "IF"....

Just as Kobe fans can see no wrong with him when the Lakers lost in the past, LBJ fans are the same way.  Why we can't all see this is beyond comical to me.....

Cavs by 15 tonight (Magic's shooting will be cold for a night)

I think we can all agree, once LeBron gets taken out this year, it's Kobe who won another year in the LeBron vs. Kobe argument. And if the Lakers win the title this year, look for Kobe to win it next year. If the Lakers win, I see a repeat next year, Kobe will finish his career with 5 rings, and in 3 years LeBron will surpass Kobe, so then we can hear LeBron vs. ______.

^why's that?!? ???

that's what i still don't get, i didn't understand it from the first time the "Kobe vs. LeBron" arguement was raised.

just because the Lakers do better that means Kobe > LeBron?

yeah sure Lakers > Cavs, i don't know many who would disagree that; but what does that have to do with Kobe or LeBron?

lets say the Lakers take there series & the Cavs pull a miracle comeback, would you say Bynum > Dwight because the Lakers went farther?

if anyone is really that deep into denial where they think if the Cavs sat LeBron & the Lakers sat Kobe & the two teams played & you honestly thought the Cavs stood a chance, your nuts.

i would bet over a thousand dollars on the Lakers (w/o Kobe) against the Cavs (w/o LeBron); fact is LeBron does more than Kobe with less help around him.

it has nothing to do with who wins rings & shit; otherwise i guess Robert Horry is one of the best PF's ever lmao.

Simple, to be the man, you have to beat the man, or wait until they retire like everyone did with MJ... lol

This year, the Lakers beat the Cavs twice, so they went 2-0 against them. The only reason LBJ got the MVP this year is because the Lakers haven't been playing good basketball since just before Bynum came back, so the Cavs surged late and the Lakers fell off and the Cavs ended in first place. Like Steve Nash, LBJ was the second best player, but many people that have the MVP vote aren't fans of Kobe, so just like MJ at the end of his career, usually the second best player gets the MVP trophy. The NBA has been pushing a Kobe/LeBron finals, and right now it ain't happening.

Side note, this article is very true about both. It's neither pro Kobe or pro LeBron, or anti either, but it mentions how we put an unrealistic standard on both just because we are looking for our next MJ.

Cleveland has a great defensive squad and they were winning games all season long...they have an all-star point guard, premier defenders, and serviceable post presence....and the MVP(?). everyone was calling them the best team when they swept Detroit and Atlanta LMAO. the fact of the matter is, they're a regular season team ala Dallas 2006, Phoenix 2004-2008, etc.  because LeBron is lacking what we like to call a killer instinct. Dunno if that's something he can develop, but that's always been one of the main things keeping him from taking it to the next level...PeACe

Cavs by 15 tonight (Magic's shooting will be cold for a night)

i just dont see how some people cant tell the difference between Kobe and LeBron...LOL.

why cant you impatient fucks just wait til LeBron accomplishes something meaningful before putting him on a pedestal?

leading your team to a championship is the ultimate accomplishment...if LeBron cant do it, then he's no Kobe. end of story. it's not like there's a huge disparity between Lakers and Cleveland as a whole. Lakers are a better team mainly because of Kobe. Cleveland minus LeBron have the better team defense and Lakers minus Kobe have the better team offense. it pretty much evens out...if LeBron cant win with this group when it counts most (a group thats been tearin shit up all season long) and Kobe can, why would it be so weird to you that the comparisons must stop? dont forget what the ultimate goal in this league is and dont forget what pushes a player over the top........that shiny stuff. 8)

A bunch of losers since neither of them would make a free-throw. Kobe was the closers, even his biggest haters know that.

Simple, to be the man, you have to beat the man, or wait until they retire like everyone did with MJ... lol

yeah....but who is the man? lol There hasnt been a clear cut "man" since Jordan. That phrase only works if youre talking about Championship TEAMS now, and the Celtics are already out of it.

Here we go again ... Lebron has been the best player in these playoffs (though Kobe has been great too) , the numbers he's putting against Orlando are just INSANE ... I have no pb saying Lebron >>> Kobe because all I care about is my team the LA Lakers , not defending Kobe legacy or whatever ...I think everybody , Lakers ( more likely " Kobe " fans ? ) fans and others B-Ball fans need just to stop bringing this , there are a lot of more to discuss than Kobe and Lebron in these playoffs and in B-Ball in general  ... and as great as they have played so far , they both need the rest of their team to step it up to win ..

a big part of lebrons numbers...against orlando, is van gundy's strategy to have the OTHER guys beat them. it's the same strategy D'antoni used against kobe, and the same strategy the pistons used against shaq and kobe.

and that's not to say that the OTHER guys on the team are horrible. i just look on the court sometimes and i don't see anything happening, i see lebron at the top of the key and four other cavs posted up stationary either at the three or somewhere away from the play watching lebron.  it's the 2006-2007 lakers all over again

yeah but dude is still shooting 50% from the field .. this strategy is working/good when you force the superstar to take a lot of shots to score 30+ on a bad % ... imo the number 1 of the Cavs in this series is not the role players shooting poorly , the real pb is their Defense .. Orlando has succeeded in making these series an offensive one , which is not Cavs style ... imo the inability to get stops down the stretch has been the NUMBER 1 reason of theirs struggle

On point. It's not about being the best player because it's not that easy to determine, it's all about the championship team. Kobe vs. LeBron is everywhere, whether it be Dubcc, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and they have only played 2 games against each other this year. Both of these guys bring in a lot of bball fans because it's amazing to see top-flight athletes perform at this kind of level, but the media hype gets annoying quick. As these playoffs have shown, tough teams are pushing them to the limits, and David Stern's dream Finals scenario isn't guaranteed.

And for the post above, most of those years, LeBron wasn't even in the league, and he still might make it in 2009. People who are fans of 1 player or team try too hard to discredit the other player. They're both great.

I post them to show facts, you come here, well Kobe's finals appearances are with Shaq, at 24 yadda yadda yadda. I maybe a Lakers fan, but I am not entitled to my own facts. Facts are facts, stats are stats, and I put them out there. Just like you, you are a Laker hater, and just because you hate the Lakers doesn't mean you can have your own stats. One thing I wish was true was that Shaq never left, 'cause if he would have accepted his new role as second option, the Lakers would have won more titles. BUT, it never happened so it doesn't count, because it's not facts. I'm not a Kobe Stan like my friend Sccit, I go by facts, and facts are simple. At 24, Kobe>>LeBron, more titles, more PPG, better 3P%, more MPG, and better at clutch shots, plus he won more titles at that time and had more playoff experience. Facts are facts, with or without Shaq, 6 finals appearances >>>> 1 finals appearances.

Stats at 24 for both Kobe and LeBron

02-03 Kobe

GSP: 82 MPG: 41 FGP: .451 3p%: .383 RPG: 6.9 APG: 5.9 SPG: 2.2 PPG: 30.0

08-09 LeBron

GSP: 81 MPG: 37.7 FGP: .489 3p%: .344 RPG: 7.9 APG: 7.2 SPG: 1.7 PPG: 28.4

i'll take the higher FGP with more rebounds & assists with 2 less PPG in less time played.

who wouldn't?

Though Shaq was taking up most the rebounds and the triangle evens out the assist, which is why even though Kobe has his high distributing games, he gets lower assist than LeBron because of that extra pass the triangle calls for. And it's not that much higher of a FG%

well what is much more?

i mean you being a Lakers fan, i know you didn't post these stats for LeBron's sake lol.

Facts are facts, with or without Shaq, 6 finals appearances >>>> 1 finals appearances.

you're just as much a "Kobe stan" (haters term for someone who appreciates the greatness of Kobe's game) as I am...dont let these fools get you, mdoggydogg.

LMAO... really. If you remember correctly, in 2004 I was taking Shaq's side in the Kobe Shaq beef, I would rather have had them together, and I didn't post anything positive about Kobe for a year after Shaq was traded other than to say I'm a Laker's fan and will support my team. It took me some time to get into the whole Kobe leads the Lakers deal, but I trusted the franchise that has been to more NBA Finals than any other team, and it was the right call. I'm by no means a Kobe Stan, but I think his the most complete player in the league and will get his 4th ring.

We should just judge these guys by what they do on the court, end of story.

I don't think anyone would ever say Kobe is a "good" sport, and obviously Lebron has shown he isn't either.   However, up until this point, he has always been gracious in defeat (check what he said after losing to the Celts and SPurs).....dude is obviously pissed and he handled it extremely poorly.

Overall, both of these guys are likely egomaniacs and don't give a shit about you or I.  SOme like Kobe's game, some like Lebron's, but lets leave it bball.

Kobe has the better team and will likely get a finals MVP for his great play throughout the playoffs, while LBJ got an MVP this year and had and did pretty much all that can be expected of him in the playoffs.

Both players are amazing, and really, everytime we discredit one, its only to make the other look better.   Kinda sad really.....

yeah, but Kobe & Shaq = 60 points & LeBron & Mo & Z = 60 points.

why does it matter if Kobe only passed it to one guy? lmao.

LeBron gets his whole team involved whereas the 3peat teams was just Shaq & Kobe with hopefully a little help from somebody else (even if they didn't need it lol).

LeBron's posted stats >>> Kobe's.

your really reaching with that one, esspecially your whole Shaq argument lmao.

Do you have anything to support that? I've never recalled Kobe just walking off and not congratulating his opponent after a playoff or finals lost. The whole "good" sport thing is being a professional about defeat - the opposite is being a "sore" loser.

^i would say that you had a low IQ in general lmao.

Lakers were just Shaq & Kobe, so the "Kobe scored that many points WITH Shaq!" argument isn't really a point at all; like it's some crazy to do.

if the whole game plan on every possetion is get the ball to Shaq or Kobe & let them either kick it out to a role player or just take it.

the Cavs get the ball to LeBron & he either takes it himself or creates a shot for somebody else & kicks it to them.

SO, Kobe & Shaq scored 60 together, the rest of the team scored 40.

LeBron scored 35-40 (40 when he is on) when he does his own thing & then dishes it to his teammates for another 60-70 points.

::) look if LeBron played with that Lakers team that had Shaq (one of the most dominant big men ever) he would get less touches, and I mean LESS, therefore his PPG would decrease and also having Shaq his RPG would also decrease. Cavs offense runs always through Bron and that Lakers offense ran primarily through Shaq and Kobe, mostly Shaq. why do you think Kobe, after Shaq left, went from having 35 PPG to like 28 now in the reg season, now he got Gasol and so on, he don't need to take that much shots as he had to and he gets less touches, the triangle offense runs primarily through him but not as much as Bron on the Cavs. get what I'm sayin? now if this happens with Gasol, when the offense ran through him and Shaq, mostly, to have 30 PPG is amazing. it's not that hard to get lmao

lol not at all, Kobe's points when down when he had all the weapons in the world.

he had Shaq, all he gave the ball to was Shaq or he gave it somebody who worked it into Shaq.

now he has Gasol, Bynum, Odom & Fisher can shoot his ass off.

he doesn't need to do as much because the people around him are so much better than they were.

he becomes a decoy for defenses to double & then he kicks it out.

didn't he lead the league in scoring back in '06? or really close to the top; the year they had a shitty season, he averaged like 33 or some shit, right?

he got 3 new weapons in Odom, Gasol & Bynum & he averages 10 ppg less & that's because there all good.

Kobe scored 30 with Shaq because if Shaq didn't get it on that possetion it was Kobe taking the shot, whereas now Kobe shoots less because he has more than just one guy around him.

GSP: 81 MPG: 37.7 FGP: .489 3p%: .344 RPG: 7.9 APG: 7.2 SPG: 1.7 PPG: 28.4

i'll take the higher FGP with more rebounds & assists with 2 less PPG in less time played.

who wouldn't?

these people are such idiots...LMAO

LOL, why show misleading stats to prove a point when CLEARLY LeBron's are better?

to claim that you'd take lebron over kobe, especially based on those stats, is beyond retarded...considering the stats are similar, yet Kobe shared the offense with shaq and lebron didn't, your remark was hilarious....kobe has and always will be better than lebron. lebron lovers need to accept this already.

yeah, but Kobe & Shaq = 60 points & LeBron & Mo & Z = 60 points.

why does it matter if Kobe only passed it to one guy? lmao.

LeBron gets his whole team involved whereas the 3peat teams was just Shaq & Kobe with hopefully a little help from somebody else (even if they didn't need it lol).

LeBron's posted stats >>> Kobe's.

your really reaching with that one, esspecially your whole Shaq argument lmao.

wow...what an idiot you are. LOL.

Stats at 24 for both Kobe and LeBron

02-03 Kobe

GSP: 82 MPG: 41 FGP: .451 3p%: .383 RPG: 6.9 APG: 5.9 SPG: 2.2 PPG: 30.0

08-09 LeBron

Kobe's 30 PPG with one of the most dominant big men ever > Bron's 28,4 PPG when the offense runs always through him

and I ain't sayin that those stats make Kobe the better player (I still think he is though) because on the real stats don't really mean that much, of course they mean something but you gotta look at everything from different angles you know.

what?! LeBron averages 8 assists a game! :o

sure the offense runs through LeBron, but he is dishing it more than Kobe.

2 assits is 4 points (given there not 3's).

putting LeBron at 32 (& winning 60 games) to Kobe's 30, who was either shooting or finding a way to work it into Shaq.

if you don't get it what can I do? it is what it is, I don't even wanna get into that Kobe vs LeBron bullshit, I rest my case here. I was just explaining to you why Kobe's stats are better due to different facts, I ain't sayin those stats make him the better player at the age of 24 than LeBron at the same age and I ain't sayin that LeBron wouldn't have won the same amount of rings if he played in that Lakers team, nobody can state that or the opposite cause it just didn't happen, even though Kobe's the best player right now IMO. like I said, you gotta look at all the different angles, not just better stats but yeah...

when someone says Kobe has 3 rings people discredit him by using the having Shaq, one of the GOATs, argument but then when someone praises his amazing stats playing with one of the most dominant centers ever people always find a way to diminish what he has done.

LOL! too bad i don't support arguments for Kobe like i do LeBron or you would be calling me the best poster since yourself.

your opinon is 110,000% biased, it automatically makes it invalid.

i won't front, you know your ball (more than me, i can admit); but when it comes to opinonated threads (90% of the threads in this section) your input means literally nothing because your always siding the same way, regardless of the situation & then hating against the opposition, regardless of who it is.

so if i'm "the worst", your not far off & you would hear it a lot more if you didn't have 80% of this board (who are Laker fans) behind your back, co-signing your shit just because it's pro-Laker.

sure, i support the lakers and am very optimistic about our future as a ball-club...i think we have some of the best young talent in the league and the greatest player on the planet... but i dont consistently spit stupid shit that makes absolutely no sense just to support my team. if i say i expect the lakers to win, i really do...if i say i think Kobe is the best player, that's what i really think.

real shit lol. Laker fans just dont want to argue with him cus it might make it seem as if they are going against the Lakers. But real fans see things for what they are, not only what the want them to be.  A real fan can call out his team (even its best player) when the team is playing like shit. Cheerleaders wont.  This board is FULL of cheerleaders and not fans. There have a been a few cats who stand out, like el creepo, Jake at times, etc. who are willing to speak the truth even if it is a negative for the Lakers.
