"Tha Shit" is the unreleased album of 2ND II None..is this Safe+Sound quality of production!! They bootleg this in 2008!! Google It!! Is Classic

The beef w/ MC Eiht take to the Compton streets, its serious .

Danny Boy album .. "It's All About Time" released in 2010 . Quik destroys on the production..

The Kid Incident? Look:  http://articles.latimes.com/1995-02-28/local/me-36972_1_hawthorne-police

EL Rey incident was the murder of a guy, Rolling 60's Crips affiliated . This is a Death Row party, and some Crips attended to the show, and insulted Quik ( Because EIHT beef ), and the TTP'S  of Quik entourage beat-to-death one of the guys.

The Police has a dossier claiming Quik,Hi-C,Zeek and Donzelly RU were responsible for the death.

Obviously Suge Knight has a way to rid them of the charges, with his contacts .

Yo, Mr. Theo, you are seriously the man, I think you might be the most learned fan of DJ Quik on the planet. How do you know so much about him?

1993-97 were chaotic years for Quik. I remember in an interview he said he woke up one day and was like "Damn, it's 1998, and I'm alive!" As for the varying quality of his music, I think Quik has made extremely high quality tracks in ever year he's been active. 93-97 were great years, and the quality dips a bit in the early 2000s. But I think he currently is as potent as ever. Track for track, The Book of David is the strongest of Quik's albums, in my opinion (#2 is Rhythmalism, #3 is Safe & Sound).

Has he rapped about his nephew killing Top Dogg before? Quik mentions his nephews a lot, never noticed any real anger towards them though.

Is his name Dante or David?

How did he hit the boy? Was the boy crossing illegally? What happened? That's traumatic. Rest in piece little one.

The song, tha shit, the beat is cool. I didn't find a full album.

The crips attended the after party? Or the show? How did try insult him? So, try literally stomped him out til he died?

That label was nothing but the damn devil.

Where do we hear this Danny boy album. Damn shame he ended trying out for American idol. I'm not a fan, but, is love to hear the production u speak of.

1994

- The Danny Boy album sessions on Death Row

Isn't 1994 a little early for the recording of Danny Boy's album? I would have guessed that the album was recorded in 1995 or 1996.

Thing I always wanted to know about Quik was the origins of his brief feud with Everlast from House of Pain.  Anyone know the deal behind that one?

His name is David Martin Blake..."Dante Blake" is a pseudonym used by him.

He hits the kid accidentally . Problaby the kid crossed the street running or outside the crosswalk.

Put on Youtube "2ND II NONE UNRELEASED TRACKS" .. there got all tracks

This is a after party of Source Awards, the Crips attended to the show because Snoop Dogg was performed along with DJ Quik.

They insulted Quik, while he performed..So Quik was it to face them..one of the dudes steals Quik cap..and the brawl begins...the crips get away but one of them (Kelly Jamerson) was caught.
On the news, were reported responsible the Tree Top Pirus entourage and Death Row Members ( Suge bodyguards ) ..but on police reports claims DJ Quik, HI-C , Zeek ( Quik's friend ) and Donzelly RU ( OG Compton TTP ) for the act .

Put on Youtube, Danny Boy "Its All About Time" all tracks available here !!

No . Quik produced tracks was recorded in 1994 and possibly early 95. Remember the "Dollaz+Sense" beat was a Danny Boy beat "Steppin"..Danny Boy give the beat to Quik.. this explain "And that little singin ass nigga Danny Boy" shout out on Dollaz and Sense.

The rest of the album was recorded after Quik tracks ( The Devante Swing tracks ) these were recorded in 95-96

i consider around 95-96 to be when quiks production hits the next level, where he crafts a trademark sound with g-one and rob bacon. the 96-2000 period is golden.

Dumb shit from Everlast part . Everlast calls out Quik on one song..Shamrocks/Shenanigans, on album version he cut off the diss..he says "you make me sick, like strawberry quik" but on Remix EP , DJ Muggs accidentally uses the original verse ""You make me sick, like DJ Quik"..

Quik responded w/ Can't Fuck With a Nigga  on Menace II Society soundtrack .

Of course Everlast didn't respond.

For me .. DJ Quik best work after Rhyth-a-lism is the 2ND II None "Tha Shit" album.. man DJ Quik is nuts on these album sessions..every track is a bomb..full of details.. i bumpin this 2nd II None hidden album every week .

KK spit fire on that album and D sings melodic chorus perfectly on this album

Safe and Sound is great man..top 3 album by Quik. It's changed rap music..but they was released the 2nd II None album on 95 along with S&S.. that would be wonderful ..

DJ Quik is a visionary when it comes a studio.

His second name is "Marvin", not "Martin".. he was mad at Wikipedia for that mistake (now it's correct).

The killing of the little kid is a terrible story, recently I read an article about it and the family of the kid commented it... I'm a fan of Quik's music, but in his life he did many mistakes, some really tragic.

By the way how come Quik never speaks about his grandson being killed? That is really a horrible story.
Quik always talks about his son all proud, but never about her stupid daughter.

And Quik says "I wish I wore a condom with my first baby momma"

And then the nigga says "but you love the daughter, right?"

And Quik says "She cool."

And the nigga says "You didn't answer the question"

Just listened to the track "Total Auto" and remembered that there's a couple more entries to add to this list:

1. Suge Knight beats up AMG (Quik revealed this in a recent interview, but I think he's talking about it on Total Auto)

2. Donzelly RU leaks All Eyez On Me in advance of its release and also gets beat up by Suge (mentioned on Total Auto for sure)

Are there any pictures of Big Jake on the internet?

I knew about the Big Jake murder, but I hadn't realized that Quik was so close to him. It's interesting how on the 92.3 Dedication to Big Jake, Quik says "I do not support East Coast hip hop." He dissed Puff in a few more songs later, probably still mad about this. "Leaving you overexposed like Puff" "The marks in them sheer shirts that be in the source."

Is Quik sill mad at Puff? The only time I can think of him mentioning Puff in recent years is in the DubCC interview where he says "Diddy, I love your vodka."

That's right.. Big Jake interview on "Dead Homiez" film .

They got Hi-C and 2nd II None interviews on this movie too.

Big Jake was a Campanella Park Piru.

Hi-C is a TTP, he lived on TTP territory ( i don't know what street )

2ND II NONE .. D is from Elm Street .. he is Elm Street Piru.

KK is from 900 Block of Spruce Street (same street of Quik) but the 900 block is Elm Street territory. He is Elm Street too

CURIOSITY

Look at "Didn't Mean to Turn you On" video, in the beginning they are in a dead end street.

This is Spruce Street. The house that appears is KK house . ( AMG lived there w/ KK iin 1988-89 )

2. Donzelly RU leaks All Eyez On Me in advance of its release and also gets beat up by Suge (mentioned on Total Auto for sure)

That's right .. Donzelly RU did w/ AEOM and.... "Can't nobody fuck yo' baby mamma like he do" .. This is also mentionated in "Intro for Roger" too .

Donzelly RU fucks "former" DJ Quik wife ( Nedra Richardson aka Cookie )

And Cookie have a daughter, which is not Quik daughter. (Quik mentions it on Time Stands Still track)

I believe she is Donzelly Ru daughter.

Wow, this is crazy shit. Quik must hate Donzelly more than anyone. For him to diss him on tracks from the early 2000s and then to diss him again on Ghetto Rendezvous, that shows you Quik truly hates this nigga.

Never realized that Time Stands Still was about Cookie. That makes perfect sense. He says "you and your son looks you like you and my son," but I guess he switched the gender of the offspring to fit the rhythm.

Is there a picture of Donzelly Ru anywhere on the net?

Also, how many kids does Quik have? A son and a daughter with Cookie, plus a daughter with another woman from the early 90s? Who is the other mother? And is the non-Cookie daughter the one who Quik got custody of around 2006? It's a shame he was proud of "raising" her and then she lets her son die.

But Zelly slept w/ Cookie, this is proven on the songs.

Its hard for Quik, because Donzelly was a childhood friend, this is a serious thing.

I don't know who are the Quik first baby mama. He got 3 childs.. 2 daughters (Devianna, of the beat-kid incident) and Dejon and one son ( David Blake Jr.)

Dejon and Jr. lives with him, along with the Cookie's daughter (she got only 9 or 10 years ) w/ Zelly (Possible) (Custody episode)

Of course Everlast didn't respond.

Actually, he did.

House of Pain : I´ma Swing It

I'm not the man
But I asked you, 'Who was it?'
Quik's got the hairdo
Just like Ruth Buzzi
Runnin' round town
Like ya' been to jail, son
But ya hit the swap meet
To get your hair and your nails done
Get off my sac
Cause your shit is wack
Ya diss me
And I'm a diss you back

An album i always luv and which was recorded just before this 1993 was the PPC album, Penthouse Players Clique - Paid The Cost.  DJ Quik produced more than solid tracks with Playa Hamm spittin over pure G.Funk sound. Well, the lyrics were almost the same thang from the first to tha last track, but DJ Quik production was dope as fucc and really inspired by P-Funk music.

That's right man.. this PPC album is classic... for me this is a sequel of Quik Is The Name..but on P-Elements added .
But What I was trying to say, is that Quik change his sound on the "Tha Shit'' sessions, and consequently in Safe+Sound sessions.

You're right about this. The early Quik albums have some great songs, but the production has not reached the perfection it would reach in 93/94. Around the time of The Shit/Safe & Sound/It's About Time, Quik had mastered his signature sound. It is clear on this Shello track from 1994 as well:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqkMEwx77zw

By 1994, Quik had went from being a great producer to being the BEST producer.

Hey Mr. Theo, I was listening to the song "G-Shit" (f/ KK) today and I noticed that Quik disses a woman he calls "Mrs. Donzelley." Do you think he's dissing Cookie here? He disses the bitch for her "muffin-top"...and Cookie does have that. Maybe that's why Quik ended up not putting G-Shit on Book of David.

Who is Time Stands Still about then?

You should drop more knowledge about Quik's situation.

Quik actually has another son by a friend of mine that I don't even think he knows about. She says she doesn't want to tell him because in her words "she don't wanna fuck up what he got goin" (whatever that means) so out of respect for my homegirl I won't go any further about it but lil dude look like the spitting image of Quik, it's crazy.

Its hard for Quik, because Donzelly was a childhood friend, this is a serious thing.

Watch this, have a Donzelly Ru picture, Quik too .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA5RmxTDhgs

I don't know who are the Quik first baby mama. He got 3 childs.. 2 daughters (Devianna, of the beat-kid incident) and Dejon and one son ( David Blake Jr.)

Dejon and Jr. lives with him, along with the Cookie's daughter (she got only 9 or 10 years ) w/ Zelly (Possible) (Custody episode)

I check the story...DJ Quik have 4 childs!! Damiyah isn't Donzelly daughter. Is Quik daughter.

And Time Stands Still its' not about Cookie
Quik actually has another son by a friend of mine that I don't even think he knows about. She says she doesn't want to tell him because in her words "she don't wanna fuck up what he got goin" (whatever that means) so out of respect for my homegirl I won't go any further about it but lil dude look like the spitting image of Quik, it's crazy.

Post a picture, nigga. Let's see the fifth child of DJ Quik.
Man if I could I would but the homegirl doesn't want to bother Quik about it for whatever her reasons are so I gotta respect that. But trust me, I ain't bullshittin that's lil Quik all the way. I have no reason to lie on a forum about a nigga's child when I got my own kids to worry about. If she ever gave me the blessing though, I would gladly post a pic of her son so y'all could trip out on the how much he looks like him. At first I thought that 'Time Stands Still' shit was about her (the you & your son look like me & my son) but the rest of the lyrics don't add up so it ain't her he's talkin about.

Well, it's still cool that you know a girl that fucked DJ Quik. I assume she must be pretty hot? Did she tell you how well Quik beat it up?

1989 - Prior to Godfather Entertainment, Suge signs his first artist DJ Quik, who then introduces Suge to Chocolate

G.F. Entertainment or Death Row didn't exist in 89. Suge, The DOC bodyguard, met a lot of guys from Ruthless like Chocolate aka Mario 'Smooth' Johnson who was affiliated with NWA. After DOC car crash, Suge Knight get his own managment label and signed DJ Quik. He also signed met Mario Johnson as lyrics writter who, one year later, didn't get paid from Vanilla Ice Ice Ice Baby. There's also Mr T, a bodyguard and female rapper Paradise. I mean, that was Suge Knight Management imprint, not GF Entertainment which was established when Suge got Dr Dre off his Ruthless contract to form Death Row Records, based on the name of Def Row (sold by DJ Unknown to Suge Knight). GodFather Entertainment was, previously, the parent label of Death Row Records (first Death Row Entertainment for D.R.E., Dre's label). GF Entertainment was Harry-O, Lydia Harris & David Kenner company which fund Suge Knight.

1989 - Prior to Godfather Entertainment

Definition: Adj. 1. prior = earlier in time, meaning that 1989 was before the early 90's. Info previously posted is correct
