which would explain why the verse is so wack
fuck outta here. that verse was classic !!!! eazy built west coast rap if it wasn't for him shit would be different. dre wouldn't be donig detox he'd be doing low budget performances in local clubs in compton wearing his sequins outfit. eazy will always be king of the west coast.

a lot of verses were written for him, he wasn't a rapper first. but that doesn't take away anything from his contributions

which would explain why the verse is so wack

nah his verse is definitely not wack... wack is not about the quality, it's first and foremost about the vibe and intentions... a well-written song can be called wack if it sounds unauthentic and the vibe is wrong, kinda like how people call Mase's mainstream hits wack.

and a poorly written verse can be labeled classic if it had a huge impact when it came out and if it fits a particular context... which is the case for Eazy's verse. it may be very basic, dude has so much charisma and style, he just doesn't give a fuck and that's what make this verse and this song a timeless classic. eazy e came correct on this no matter how basic his rhymes were. it's not like westcoast rappers are all about the lyrics anyway, it's much more about the style, the vibe and the flow than the rhyme patterns on the west.

look at it from that perspective... people rap for different reasons. some are doing it because they want to be the best at it. eg Ice Cube, Crooked I, Jay Z, Bun B, Eminem, E-40. some are doing it for the money, eg. Eazy-E, Puff Daddy, some are in their own lanes and do to have fun, eg. Snoop, Too Short, Devin The Dude

It's not a noble thing to hire people to write for you in rap but at least Eazy-E knew he sucked at writing lyrics and was honest enough to publicly acknowledge it. It didn't prevent him from releasing classic solo projects. In the end, people wrote much more credible verses than Dre's verse. I love Dr. Dre but he's always sounded unauthentic and forced, you could tell he didn't feel what he was saying... On the other hand, sometimes the lyrics written for Eazy were recited with so much ease and passion that you'd think he had written them by himself.

the lyrics eazy wrote weren't wack ! in fact he wrote some of his best material in his catalog. he said shit in the most upfront way compared to other rappers at the time. he had flow as well. tha muthafukkin real was one of the best songs eazy ever wrote. yella confirmed that eazy came up wit that off the top of his head. check the credits. i'm quite sure he learned a thing or two from watching rhymes being wrote to pick it up himself after n.w.a broke up.

the lyrics eazy wrote weren't wack !

that is debatable...

Standin' on the corner straight slangin' rocks
Aw shit! Here comes the muthafuckin' cops!
So I dash, I ducks, and I hides behind a tree
Makin' sure the motherfuckers don't see me
Now my fat sack of rocks hell yeah I stuffed 'em
Police on my draws, I had to pause
And yeah, it's still muthafuck 'em
Now my game is tight, tight as fuck is my game
Easy motherfucking E or Eric Wright it's all the same
Now niggas might trip on how I stacks my grip
I gotta have it bitch
For the love of this shit
MOTHERFUCKER!!

(copied from lyrics website)

even as a kid, i thought a child could probably rhyme better. this is seriously a 5 yr old's rhyme scheme. and i have no problems with easy e, im just saying the rhyme is basic as hell
