 No More "Tha" In Row

There has been tons of speculation on whether "Tha Row" would go back to it's original name of "Death Row" records. For those of you who went to www.tharow.com, there was a little sign that said "Death Row Is Back." Turns out; it is.

Upon Suge Knight's release from prison, early this week, they made the switch from Tha Row to Death Row. For long time fans, thats great.

It's going to be a little hard to let people know Death Row is back as a name, since they were in magazines like The Source and XXL as Tha Row, but it's Death Row, that shouldn't be a problem.

The new URL is www.deathrowrecordsisback.com or www.deathrowrecords.net, AM7 is hittin' the site with a new lay-out design to celebrate the "re-release" of Death Row.

Be on the look out for the Dysfunktional Family soundtrack out early next month.

I like Death Row better than just Tha Row. But whether it turns out okay? I'll believe it when I see it. They got a long road ahead to come back to the top of the game. Personally, I have doubts.

Sure, the original is better names-wise, but as a long time fan: no it's not. Death Row was more than a label; it was a phenomena. It's that phenomena I'm a fan of, not the label or the name. I guess all of that Suge's "Death Row is in the past, Tha Row is the future" shit was exactly that, shit. Sure the label can be called Death Row, but it ain't ever gonna BE Death Row again.

Oh well, Suge wanna call it that, then so be it. Hopefully they get crackin' though and get that Crooked I album out ASAP. If I was Crooked I, I probably wouldn't have had so much patience, my ass would be outta there out now, and so would my album (hopefully). Really, the way Crook's album takes so long to come out is on some Dr. Dre - Rakim level.

I dont know what to think about it.. Could be another publicity move aimed at getting public attention without actually dropping an album.  Suge milks the media for every bit of attention he gets and he knows that any news is good news when you aint droppin product.
