Well... it's not WACK, but the last album to let me down by giving me something totally out of line with what I expected was Quik's UTI.

I really like the album now, but at the time I was expecting something more traditionally "Quik".

Snoop - Deathrows Greatest Hits

Think the Wash was a great soundtrack after a few listens it kind of grows on you. There are lots of albums but I was dissapointed in Quiks UTI. It didnt sound like an album of his. The only track of traditional style was Trouble & One on 1

He intended to put most of his least liked work into this while at the same time adding a few new tracks. This album was destroyed by the pointless skits that make you loose interest. If this had been filled with full tracks all the way this could have been a brilliant album.

There's a lot of albums that have disappointed me over the years... but none more than:


Xzibit's "Man vs. Machine".

Prior to its release I remember reading that Xzibit said he had used only 1/5 of his lyrical potential on "Restless" and with all the hype surrounding the album I was expecting a mind-blowing effort. I waited for ages, and considering the long amount of time X had to work on this record it just didn't live up to its promise. The album was extremely underwhelming, and contrary to his promise, X was very unfocused on the mic. Even the Dre beats were sub-par on this album, what's even more fucked up is that the LP's by far best track, "What A Mess", were placed on the fuckin bonus disc. THE disappointment of the year 2002 for me.


Other albums which come to mind:

Eminem - The Eminem Show (good, but appeal wore off quickly)
Jay-Z - Blueprint 2 (another good album, but I expected much more)
Nate Dogg - Music & More (underwhelming)

I never have high expectations for soundtracks or compilations no matter what the line up is.  Most artists use them for their leftover tracks.

I wouldn't say wack but albums I couldn't wait for but was a little disapointed:

Snoop Dogg - The Game... & Paid The Cost...
Xzibit - Man Vs. Machine
50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
Ras Kass - Van Gogh (eventhough it's unreleased)


Again, I just had higher expectations for these.
