« on: May 21, 2003, 01:11:35 PM »
While we will be posting an in-depth interview with Ras Kass in the next few weeks, now that Ras is very close to being granted his walking papers by Priority, word is that he maybe aligning himself with Russell Simmons' Def Jam imprint.  We also hear G. Dep has been getting cozy with Def Jam reps as well??  Meanwhile, place your pre-order for Ras' "Catch Me If You Can" CD and DVD, exclusively at
HipHopSite.Com.

great news for Kass, if he gets his release
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

I ain't really a huge ras kass fan, but seems like every westcoast artist that signs to def jam gets fucked, and hasn't ras already been fucked pretty bad by priority?

warren g did alrite on def jam but how many years ago was that. i can't see ras doing well over at def jam he'd be better off signing directly with universal or some place like that if u ask me

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

Why would Def Jam sign Ras Kass?  It doesn't make much sense to me.  I would think that Priority would want a good amount of money to buy out the contract considering he owes them albums and they wasted money recording and expenses for Van Gogh/Goldyn Child.  Plus he's going to jail soon anyways.

I wouldn't sign a drunk who might flip out on my company and steal from us like he did with his previous employer.

Thats Good news for Ras Kass!!!! he's already working with East coast producers (for those who thinks that WC artist  cant fuck with def jam) anyway so this should be good for him they wont fuck him up since they know about his label trouble and DEF JAM is the best when it comes to promotion they will probably put him in alot of mixtape and make him do guest appearances on other people albums...And the reason that WC didnt do well was probably of the contents of the album, It was straight WestCoast and not everybody is down with That WestCoast gangsta sound.I doubt this will happen with Ras Kass since his music is listenable to everybody...anyway we'll see

He already did.. LoL
Fabolous feat. Ras Kass & Fresh - Give a fuck remix

I doubt this is the way to go for Ras..
I would rather see him signed to L.A. Confidential, or maybe Shady or Aftermath..

L.A Confidential are down with Elektra and Elektra are only focussing on Commercial artist (Fabolous,Missy Elliot)

Shady/Aftermath is full of projects and you know just like me that his stuff would never drop outhere

and Def Jam will take care of His career they will boost him with great singles promotions like I already said on the other post...Just look at Joe Budden who was a nobody he was just a mixtape guy ,now look what Def Jam did ..."Pump It Up" is blowing up .

The other possibility would be that he Sign  with Snoop's label since I heard Jimmy is now in charge he should do well and Snoop needs a rapper like him on his label.Thing I dont like about Jimmy though...if you're shit aint hot for him it will never drop

Def Jam would treat him well. Anything would be better than his current situation, I think we can all agree on that.

Ras is suppose to be close with Russel Simmons and Before Ras signed to priority he was made an offer by Def JAm and turned it down.

He's now getting a 2nd chance to get with Def Jam and me personaly i hope he goes for it. Ras Is just too good a rapper to carry on in this business and still go unnoticed, he dropped best lyrical work in hip hop and no one cared. IMO Ras deserves to go to Def Jam and get all the success and fame he can. Even if he goes all commercial i won't care coz theres nothing else he can do.

All westcoast labels will be shit for him coz he's never get an album out on aftermath and i'll have the production on Van Gogh than Eminem production any day.

Plus all the lyrical heavyweights are in the east so he can hook up with them and murder them on his own shit.
