Best Western Conference trades this season in order
« on: February 19, 2008, 06:48:31 PM »
I'm doing this in terms of how the trade can benefit the teams in the long run based on what they already have and what they gave up. Post yours in order too...

1. Lakers acquiring Pau Gasol (for Javaris Crittenton + Kwame Brown + Aaron McKie + Marc Gasol + 2 1st Round Draft Picks)

2. Jazz acquiring Kyle Korver (for Gordan Giricek + 1st Round Draft Pick)

3. Mavericks acquiring Jason Kidd + Malik Allen + Antoine Wright (for Devin Harris + Trenton Hassell + Maurice Ager + Keith Van Horn + DeSagana Diop + 2 1st Round Draft Picks + cash)

4. Suns acquiring Shaquille O'Neal (for Shawn Marion + Marcus Banks)

I remember everyone hating on that Korver deal when it happened, turned out to be pretty helpful

Don't underestimate the Shaq trade (like I did earlier). The more I think about it, this makes the Suns more of an all round team. They lost a valuable player in Marion, but they are more built for the playoffs now. Nash will find a way of running an effective offense in the half court, and whenever they need to they can go right back to run and gun offense. Still don't think they'll make it to the finals, though.

No you meathead, don't you get it? Half court = cryptonite to the Suns! Thats how we took a 3-1 lead of over them. Thats why the Clippers forced them to 7 games. Thats why they lose to San Antonio every year.

I can't wait for tomorrow!

Rockets trade Vassilis Spanoulis, a second round pick and cash to the San Antonio Spurs for the rights to Argentine power forward Luis Scola and 6-foot-10 center Jackie Butler.

Luis is awesome  8)

Ummm...where is Ariza for Evans+Cook? I'd put that before the Korver one.

Ariza?  He hasn't done shit this season yet, its actually a better deal for Orlando, Evans has been doin really good.  You and your crazy laker bias

Ummm...before Ariza got injured, he was a major part of our early success. The Ariza trade was great for us. It gave us an excellent wing defender and a more consistant offensive threat coming off the bench. LOL@it being better for Orlando. Evans is getting a gang of playing time and he's doing good with it, but Ariza is just much better. Cook had his nights, but overall, he was simply becoming a liability. I guess you're forgetting how much love Ariza was getting in LA before he got injured.

Do you think anyone takes you seriously?

You just said that trading Shawn Marion+Marcus Banks for Shaq (36) and Devin Harris+Desenga Diop for Kidd (34) is better than Kwame+Crittenton for Pau Gasol (27). :-X

The saddast part is that Gasol is only 27... there should be a league-veto for such joke-trades. I'm still mad about this. LOL@Dallas giving up more for a 35 year old guard than the Lakers for a 27 year old power forward. Fuck the Nba.
