Want to get in the music biz, any advice?

Wats up peepz, jus new to the boards but been surfin dubcnn for bout 4 years..I been intrested  to get in the production industry but up to now since I'm going to b graduatin from hs soon and got a free ride to college for a year and dont have my mind on wat I aid like to persue..and I enjoy the music thing to hear it.. I basicaly jus got a dell comp and that's bout it.

Any software I can get and any hook ups?

If you wantin to stay with Windows... learn Propellerhead Reason, ProTools, or CuBase.

if you know a bit about computers and know how to illegally download programs and are just starting to make music i would suggest getting some shit like Cool Edit Pro 2.0 or Acid Pro to start off learning and shit....Those are used for editing shit...reading your post its not really clear what you are trying to do with music.
